Role:
Sunday is looking for a seasoned Finance professional to oversee our planning, reporting, and analysis needs across the business. As our business grows in complexity and size, this role is critical in building the systems, tools, and processes to ensure that Sunday can scale and meet the lofty goals we have set for ourselves. Monthly budgeting, long-term planning, thoughtful analysis, data-driven insights, customer economics, and broad partnership across the organization should come naturally to this person.

Strong ability to work efficiently across the organization (Accounting, Tech, Ops, Retail, Marketing, Data) is an integral part of this role. Intellectual horsepower and top-notch financial skills are critical, and the individual must be comfortable in a fluid environment and be adaptable to change.

Responsibilities
  • The role will have direct ownership of three key areas of the business: financial data integration, budgeting and forecasting – top down & bottoms up, and ad hoc analytics.
  • Scale and enhance existing financial processes, tools, and systems to support business growth
  • Partner across the organization to bring a finance perspective to decision making in areas like customer acquisition, inventory management, retail strategy, and unit economic decision making
  • Evaluate current pricing model and cost structure to find areas of opportunity
  • Support VP Finance in continued improvement to forecasting process which includes but is not limited to cohort retention, revenue projections, working capital, add-on product mix, new lines of business, product costs, logistics, and operating expenses
  • Develop cash forecasting model to better monitor our cash position
  • Partner with Data Science and Analytics team to build out reporting dashboards and KPIs that can help drive decision making across the organization. Take a leadership role in determining organizational needs and data prioritization
  • Work with Accounting team to ensure timely, accurate, and reliable reporting of financial results
  • Support leadership in due diligence and external reporting requirements for the board, investor group, and others
  • Partner with all members of the senior management team and other company leadership on assessing and analyzing critical business decisions

Skills and Qualifications:
  • Comfort in working autonomously, juggling competing priorities, and working through others to solve complex problems
  • 8+ years of experience in Finance/Accounting, preferably in Consumer-Packaged Goods (CPG) environment
  • Experience in subscription eCommerce a big plus
  • Experience working in a startup environment strongly preferred
  • Financial planning and modeling skills, expert proficiency in Excel
  • Prior experience running company-wide annual and quarterly planning processes
  • Ability to synthesize complex data sets, derive insights, and explain financial topics to a non-financial audience quickly and coherently
  • Proficiency with Looker and familiarity with FP&A tools preferred
