To help achieve these efforts, Stratolaunch is seeking an level II or Sr-level Test Engineer, to support the environmental test team. This position includes environmental and functional testing of various components that contribute to the development and flight of the Talon air-launched, hypersonic vehicle programs through all aspects of the test program (ground and air support equipment and flight test). You will contribute the test planning, execution, failure analysis, and overall validation of the hypersonic vehicle systems with a focus on avionics components. This position will include participating in coordination, scheduling, and testing of a broad range of components.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Create environmental test plans, procedures, and reports to satisfy internal and external test requirements
Participate in environmental tests, both onsite and offsite
Support of test execution via scheduling and travel to test houses, as required
Contribute to and perform failure analysis and generate recovery plans for test failures
Maintain and operate environmental test equipment such as vibration tables and thermal chambers
Design new environmental test instrumentation systems and support its operation
Support operations of existing environmental test instrumentation systems
Knowledge and understanding of test and environmental standards such as DO-160, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461, etc.

Required Qualifications:
Knowledge of, and experience with, one or more of these disciplines: electrical engineering, software engineering, avionics, experimental aircraft and/or launch vehicle integration
Fundamental knowledge and understanding of environmental component level tests
Experience integrating launch vehicle or aircraft electrical systems
Experience or knowledge of designing test instrumentation systems
Experience reviewing electrical and mechanical schematics
Strong communication skills to share technical challenges and guidance with test stakeholders
Ability to work on own initiative and prioritize tasking to fit within business goals and schedule
Complex aerospace system development
Ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
Environmental acceptance and qualification testing experience
Experience developing test system software
Experience with full life cycle of data acquisition from instrumentation selection to data processing
Experience with testing of RF components such as RF transmitters, GPS systems, RF cabling, and RF antennas
Knowledge and experience performing EMC testing per MIL-STD-461 or similar
Knowledge of RCC-319-19, DO-160, SMC-S-16 or similar test standards
Experience with NI cRIO, cDAQ platforms for data collection and test automation
Experience with Curtiss-Wright KAM-500 DAS and IADS data processing software for data acquisition
Experience developing digital test procedures
Experience using SolidWorks or CAD software
Experience using Capital, Zuken or other electrical wiring software
Preferred Computer Skills:
Expertise using Python, LabVIEW, MATLAB or equivalent
Experience with issue tracking systems – (JIRA preferred)
Experience with Git for software configuration management
Comfortable using command line programming
Comfortable using scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, etc)
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Level II ($80,100-$128,700): Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) from accredited institution with 2-5 years of experience, OR equivalent combination of education and experience
Level Sr ($95,500-$153,500): Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) from accredited institution with 5-10 years of experience, OR equivalent combination of education and experience
