FULFILLMENT BUYER, SUPPLY CHAIN PRODUCTION (STARLINK)

At SpaceX, we’re leveraging our experience in building rockets and spacecraft to deploy Starlink, the world’s most advanced broadband internet system. Starlink is the world’s largest satellite constellation and is providing fast, reliable internet to 4M+ users worldwide. We design, build, test, and operate all parts of the system – thousands of satellites, consumer receivers that allow users to connect within minutes of unboxing, and the software that brings it all together. We’ve only begun to scratch the surface of Starlink’s potential global impact and are looking for best-in-class engineers to help maximize Starlink’s utility for communities and businesses around the globe.

We are looking for individuals who can think outside the box to achieve company objectives regarding value and partnerships with our suppliers. Our organization moves quickly, and you must too. SpaceX has the unique ability and desire to influence and shape suppliers to be better with us as we challenge our supply chain on cost, quality and delivery. This Fulfillment Buyer within the Indirect Procurement team will support purchases for several Starlink locations. The Indirect Procurement team has aggressive objectives that positively impact our product and bottom line. We are looking for the right person who is equipped and ready for these challenges to join our team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Issue purchase orders quickly and without error
  • Ensure purchase orders are acknowledged by suppliers
  • Obtain the original promise date from suppliers
  • Review open order reports and manage deliveries
  • Resolve invoice issues and ensure that vendors are paid on time
  • Expedite parts as necessary
  • Act as customer service for SpaceX internal customers
  • Support buyers in cost savings initiatives
  • Lead miscellaneous procurement projects

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree OR 4+ years of experience working in a supply chain, production, or engineering function

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Purchasing experience, specifically related to Indirect buying
  • Remarkable problem-solving skills with a bias for speed
  • Ability to learn quickly and prioritize appropriately to meet customer and company needs
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Effective written, verbal and presentation communication skills
  • Exceptional analytical and organizational skills
  • Strong technical knowledge of MS Office Suite
  • Ability to conduct all activities with the highest degree of integrity
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated and able to respond quickly to a fast-moving and ever-changing environment
  • Ability to type >50 WPM

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to work extended hours and weekends as needed
  • This position is based in Redmond and is 100 percent onsite

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

Pay range:
Level 1: $29.00/hour

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX. You may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of company stock, stock options, or long-term cash awards, as well as potential discretionary bonuses and the ability to purchase additional stock at a discount through an Employee Stock Purchase Plan. You will also receive access to comprehensive medical, vision, and dental coverage, access to a 401(k) retirement plan, short and long-term disability insurance, life insurance, paid parental leave, and various other discounts and perks. You may also accrue 3 weeks of paid vacation and will be eligible for 10 or more paid holidays per year. Non-exempt Washington employees are eligible for sick leave in accordance with Washington's Sick Leave policies. Company shuttles are offered to employees for roundtrip travel from select Seattle locations to the SpaceX Redmond office Monday to Friday.
