LEAD, MERCHANDISING OPERATIONS
As a key member of the Design team, the Merch Ops lead is responsible for overseeing aspects of vendor management, licensing/wholesale partnerships, merchandise sales, customer service policies and internal premiums and products fulfillment. The Merchandising Operations Lead will work with the Design Team to develop and produce merchandise products and apparel for SpaceX and Starlink and it pertains to the general public as well as internal customers.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
External management
- Manage consumer product development process including sourcing, vendor management, production, delivery, inventory management, sales management and reporting
- Source and maintain relationships with best in class vendors
- Create and manage production schedule for multiple products and categories; provide proactive updates on production status and alert team of potential issues
- Ensure timely delivery of all materials; oversee fulfillment house operations
- Set pricing strategies and promotions based on historic data as well as understanding of market trends and opportunities
- Set guidelines for customer service practices that support best possible customer experience with SpaceX product
- Oversee licensing partnerships
- Planning and development of retail activations
Internal management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for merchandise needs of internal departments
- Manage ops team & future staffing
- Responsible for patch distribution, anniversary gifts, events, employee customer service
- VIP and employee requests | managing inventory, costs, and approvals
- Event support
- Interfacing with internal departments on future product generation and branding
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate
- 5+ years’ experience in merchandising and/or product development
- Experience managing complete lifecycle of a product—from conception to delivery
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Experience leading a small team
- Proven track record of stablishing a network of production vendors; must have track record of developing merchandising and/or licensing agreements
- Highly organized, detail oriented and possess a proven ability to thrive under deadline pressure and to execute on a number of projects simultaneously
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be willing to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed
- Must be willing to travel to vendors or other SpaceX locations (up to 5%)
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Pay Range:
Lead, Merchandising Operations/$110,000.00 - $145,000.00/per year
Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.
