What You’ll Do:
We are seeking a hands-on Electrical Technician with strong experience in power electronics, motor driver installation, and electrical system assembly. This role supports the build, integration, and test of electromechanical systems, requiring comfort working from schematics, assembling wiring harnesses, and troubleshooting hardware at the bench level. The ideal candidate enjoys working with real hardware, diagnosing issues with test equipment, and collaborating closely with engineers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and test motor drivers and motor control hardware
- Assemble, route, and terminate wiring harnesses per schematics and drawings
- Perform soldering of through-hole and surface-mount components to IPC standards
- Troubleshoot power electronics and electromechanical systems down to component level
- Read, interpret, and execute work from electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and assembly drawings
- Use diagnostic equipment including oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and signal generators
- Support electrical bring-up, functional testing, and verification activities
- Identify, document, and communicate hardware issues and test results to engineering teams
- Assist with rework, modifications, and prototype iterations
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe lab/workspace
- To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder).
- Ability to maintain or obtain Government Security Clearance.
What It Takes:
- Associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent hands-on experience in Electrical Engineering Technology or related field
- Demonstrated experience with 3+ years of Electrical Technician experience
- Proficiency using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, DMMs, and bench power supplies
- Ability to read and follow electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
- Strong attention to detail and workmanship quality
- Comfortable working hands-on in a fast-paced engineering environment
What We’d Love:
- Experience supporting prototype or low-rate production builds
- Familiarity with IPC-A-610 and IPC-620 workmanship standards
- Experience with high-current or high-voltage systems
- Aerospace, automotive, robotics, or industrial systems background
- Experience supporting test campaigns and debugging intermittent faults
- Physical / Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to work on-site and at lab benches for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to [X] lbs as needed for equipment or hardware
- Use of hand tools, soldering equipment, and electrical test instruments
Location:
- The position is onsite at our headquarters in El Segundo, CA. Domestic travel may be required (up to ~20% of the year).
