We are focused on pushing the boundaries of what a camera can be, specifically overlaying computing on the real world. Next Generation Spectacles are our first pair of glasses that bring augmented reality to life.

We're looking for a Yield Engineer, Displays to join the Snap Lab team at Snap Inc!

What you’ll do:

  • Lead the integrated yield management program for displays from concept to production.

  • Work with internal teams at Snap (Process development, Optical, Mechanical, Electrical, Product, Software, etc) to develop an integrated yield methodology that supports future generations of Spectacles.

  • Work interactively with the fabrication partners and other contract manufacturers to improve yields, quality and reliability leading to overall operational excellence.

  • Develop techniques that combine all sources of wafer data from the initial material supplier, fabrication partner, device test, assembly, final test.

  • Develop a yield model that realistically combines defect densities for particular defect types with their associated killing efficiencies and with parametric yield loss at wafer and device level.

  • Apply the yield model to guide a pareto based set of focused yield improvement campaigns that engage all partners from display design, through manufacture and to assembly and final test.

  • Lead failure analysis efforts and integrate learnings into future design iterations.

  • Roadmap ownership for yield improvement

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Deep experience with display device processing, metrology and test processes,

  • Hands on experience solving yield problems in semiconductor device fabrication.

  • Knowledge of best practices in yield improvement, quality and reliability that, ideally, includes SPC, IYM and Trend analysis.

  • Ability to identify and mitigate risk during new development and manufacturing

  • Strong program management skills including excellent communication, coordination, and documentation

  • Ability to thrive with rapidly changing or ambiguous requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in optics, physics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science or related field

  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing, process development, design, and/or program management of semiconductor devices, electronic displays or optical modules

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PhD or master’s degree in optics, physics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science or related field

  • 7+ years of experience in manufacturing, process development, design, and/or program management of displays.
