Job Description

Job Summary:
The HR Operations Lead is responsible for driving and managing end-to-end HR operations for a manufacturing/aerospace organization, covering the full employee lifecycle, HR service delivery, compliance, and HR process excellence at plant and corporate levels. The role partners closely with operations, production, and functional leaders to ensure that HR practices support a safe, compliant, high-performance workplace aligned with business goals in a shop-floor driven environment.

Key Responsibilities :

• Lead day-to-day HR operations including onboarding, employee records, HRIS administration, payroll coordination inputs, benefits administration, and exit processes.
• Manage HR processes and policies for plant/shop-floor and office employees, ensuring adherence to labour laws, safety regulations, and company standards relevant to manufacturing/aerospace.
• Partner with production and operations leaders on manpower planning, shift planning, deployment, and adherence to headcount budgets for manufacturing and assembly lines.
• Oversee employee life cycle documentation (offer letters, contracts, amendments, confirmations, transfers, exits) and maintain accurate HR data and reports.
• Act as the first point of contact for employees and managers for HR policies, employee relations issues, disciplinary matters, and grievance handling, ensuring fair and consistent practices.
• Support recruitment operations coordination for plant and technical roles (walk ins, campus, apprentices/GETs, blue-collar hiring), in collaboration with Talent Acquisition.
• Drive HR compliance audits, statutory documentation, and readiness for customer/quality audits common in aerospace/manufacturing environments.
• Coordinate performance management cycles, confirmations, promotions, and increment administration; ensure timely communication and process adherence.
• Implement and monitor HR policies, SOPs, and HR service SLAs, recommending improvements to enhance efficiency and employee experience.
• Support implementation and maintenance of HR systems (HRIS/MIS), dashboards, and HR metrics (attendance, overtime, attrition, productivity related HR KPIs).
• Drive employee engagement, communication, and welfare initiatives at plants, including R&R, shop-floor engagement, shift-connects, and feedback mechanisms.
• Coordinate training administration and compliance training tracking for plant employees (induction, safety, POSH, CoC, regulatory/quality trainings).

Qualifications & Experience :

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related f ield; Master’s in HR/IR is preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in HR operations, with at least 4–5 years in a manufacturing and/or aerospace environment (plant HR / operations HR is mandatory).
• Strong understanding of HR operations, labour laws, and statutory requirements applicable to factories/manufacturing units; exposure to aerospace or high compliance industries is a strong advantage.

Skills & Competencies :

• Solid knowledge of HR processes across the employee lifecycle and hands-on experience with HRIS/HRMS tools.
• Experience working closely with shop-floor/plant operations, handling blue collar and staff populations, and managing shift-based environments.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills to work with leadership, line managers, and employees at all levels.
• High attention to detail, data orientation, and ability to use HR metrics for decision-making and continuous improvement. • Ability to manage multiple priorities, handle confidential information, and operate with a strong sense of ownership in a fast-paced manufacturing/aerospace context.
