About the job

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Propulsion Engineer to lead the end-to-end development of subsystems for our next-generation rocket engine. This role is central to the design, analysis, manufacturing, and qualification of propulsion subsystems that power our future launch vehicles. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise with a hands-on approach, driving innovation while ensuring safety, reliability, and performance.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, analysis and own complete development of major subsystems of a new rocket engine.
  • Collaborate with different engineering departments to optimize performance, reliability and manufacturability.
  • Develop test plans, test configuration, procedures and demonstrate the performance of the system through qualification tests. Closely coordinate with assembly, integration and testing teams to execute development activities.
  • Oversee project development timelines, budget and milestones. Ensure propulsion systems are delivered on schedule.
  • Engage with vendors and suppliers to define technical requirements, oversee manufacturing processes and ensure delivery of high-quality components.
  • Author and maintain design documentation, test plans and qualifications reports.
  • Mentor junior engineers and coach them on technical and professional development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in aerospace, Mechanical, or related Engineering discipline.
  • 7+ years’ experience working in rocket or jet engine hardware.
  • Proven track record of designing, building, and testing propulsion hardware.
  • Strong understanding of combustion systems/turbomachinery/ Injectors and feed systems.
  • Proficiency in CFD, FEA, and thermal/fluid analysis tools.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to write design reports, test plans and deliver presentations.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with additive manufacturing for propulsion hardware.
  • Hands-on experience in hot-fire testing of rocket engines.
  • Knowledge of propellant management systems, valves, and actuators.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, startup environment with multi-disciplinary collaboration.
