We are proud to be launching a new state-of-the-art technology facility in Dublin, Ireland. The Dublin-based team will play a critical role in our continued digital transformation and will function as a centre of excellence for SiriusXM’s global Product and Technology organization.
SiriusXM’s new Dublin facility will comprise a workforce primarily focused on software development, automotive technology and engineering, AdTech, data science, and analytics. Talent based in the new technology hub will be charged with developing and implementing best-in-class standards for high-quality, scalable software deliveries for SiriusXM’s streaming and in-vehicle audio entertainment platforms.
How You’ll Make An Impact
As a member of the software development team which implements end-to-end solutions for automotive IP and satellite features for SiriusXM family of services for use in Automotive, Marine and Aviation systems. Participate in software development and support efforts for software architectures, analysis of alternate implementations/techniques, design, implementation, documentation, and assisting our customers integrating our technology into their systems. SW tools and products with both Satellite and IP connectivity.
Provide clear communications and accountability within and between teams and enable the teams to overcome obstacles. Be the champion of new features and of execution excellence in achieving it.

What You’ll Do
- Software development for advanced features, architectures, and platforms for end-to-end solutions for the implementation of SiriusXM technology used in Automotive infotainment systems and head units.
- Participate with entire engineering process from concept through release to create new features in an agile process.
- Collaborate with SiriusXM receiver manufacturer partners to resolve outstanding user interface software issues during the product development process
- Participate in SW estimates and scoping by identifying increasingly refined work and cost estimates through the decision making and implementation process
- Author software components, ensuring they meet functional and quality requirements.
- Participate with the design top level interactions between components.
- Including automotive functional requirements for each component within the overall design.
- Understanding SiriusXM feature UI/UX requirements for features and contracts between components.
- Automotive Client Application
- Support and resolve encountered design and implementation issues over the entire development process from conceptual design through implementation and release.
- Participate in reviews sessions for new user interfaces, features and software implementation designs with the software team and other stakeholders.
- Support the development and integration of all feature components.
- Participate in detailed designs.
- Diagnose and resolve escalated issues.
- Find/analyse gaps and improvements in current implementations and Architectures
- Bachelor’s Degree Engineering, SW Engineering or equivalent experience required. MS Engineering is desired in SW engineering with 7+years’ experience, primarily in software development projects.
- Experience in a variety of programming languages/frameworks across the stack including C/C++, Rust, Java, React Native, JSON, QT, Flutter.
- Experience with advanced software development environments (IDE, compilers, operating systems, source management tools, CI/CD, and test tools).
- Familiarity with embedded, real-time software with the ability to clearly articulate complex system requirements, and design considerations.
- Experience in developing Proof of Concepts for viable financial impact to new and existing production intent using the variety of skills and past knowledge the candidate possesses.
- Experience / working knowledge in leading design and end user services in one or more of these areas:
- Financial (Subscription, billing and payment systems)
- Data/Information
- Content, especially audio or video
- Diverse platforms and programming languages which are used on those platforms including Web, Mobile Services (Android, iOS), SELinux.
- Consumer or Automotive audio and infotainment products (radio head units, navigation systems, MP3 connectivity, CD players, telematics systems, etc.)
- Digital communications
- Client/server communications (e.g. PC/device)
- protocols BLE, Wi-Fi, CAN, LIN, or Ethernet.
- familiarity with AUTOSTAR standards and methodology.
- Internet Protocol products and technology
- IPC Mechanisms - Sockets, Message Queues, Shared Memory, etc.
- Secure architecture practices and the understanding of security threats and associated tools and best practices to identify and prevent these threats regarding the automotive clients using SELinux, QNX or AAOS.
- Strong familiarity with various service discovers protocols within a distributed system architecture (e.g. IoT or a plurality of embedded clients working in concert with a backend server)
- Minimizing distributive business logic at the edges of the system architecture that would realize more efficient roll out of new services.
- Working knowledge of best practices to deliver a high reliability/low latent defect product capable of operating in an automotive production environment without updating over 15 years of operation.
- Comfortable working in a matrix environment, coordinating activities of multiple teams in multiple sites not under line management control
- Provide technical leadership for a unique diverse matrixed organization for each feature.
- Drive the feature team to solve technical and schedule problems in cooperation with the feature owner.
- Communicate, evangelize, and foster participation with team members across multiple organizations, especially for larger, higher priority and bolder projects.
- Recommend technical, process, and organizational approaches and changes to improve culture, features, technology and implementation across all engineering.
