How You’ll Make An Impact

As an SDET III, you will take on a more advanced role within the Quality Engineering team, leading automated testing efforts, solving complex automation challenges, and contributing to quality strategy discussions. Working independently with moderate supervision, you’ll develop and maintain test suites, introduce innovative testing methodologies, and provide insight into end-to-end functionality to drive high standards of quality.

What You’ll Do

  • Advanced Test Automation and Framework Development
    • Define, implement, and maintain backend automated test suites for new and existing functionality, primarily using Java and Rest Assured.
    • Build, enhance, and maintain automation frameworks utilized by the team to automate critical user scenarios for regression testing.
    • Tackle complex automation challenges, independently developing solutions that improve testing efficiency and coverage.
    • Execute and analyze automated test results, working with QE and functional teams to diagnose and troubleshoot any issues that arise.
  • Technical Leadership and Quality Standards
    • Set and review script quality standards, ensuring test scripts meet industry best practices and maintain consistency across the team.
    • Generate comprehensive test plans and execute them with a focus on delivering high-quality, reliable test results.
    • Participate actively in design discussions for new features, providing input on appropriate testing scenarios and strategies.
    • Support non-functional testing efforts, including performance, stability, reliability, and compatibility assessments.
  • Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing
    • Work closely with development, QE, and cross-functional teams, contributing to discussions that enhance overall product quality.
    • Conduct demos and walk-throughs of automated test scripts with team members, promoting collaborative knowledge sharing.
    • Participate in peer reviews and technical deep dives with engineers to identify and address issues proactively.
  • Continuous Improvement and Innovation
    • Seek out new tools, frameworks, and methodologies that improve testing processes and efficiency, incorporating these improvements into daily work.
    • Identify areas for improvement in automation processes and provide innovative technical solutions to increase testing effectiveness.
    • Collect and report on quality metrics from test executions, using data insights to enhance the effectiveness of testing practices.
What You’ll Need

  • Educational Background and Experience
    • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience in Quality Engineering or a similar customer-centric technical field.
    • 3-5 years of test automation experience, with at least 3 years of experience in backend automation and core Java.
  • Technical Expertise
    • Proficiency in backend automation frameworks, especially Java and Rest Assured.
    • Experience with all phases of software testing, including functional, regression, end-to-end, performance, and integration testing.
    • Comfortable with continuous integration tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and CI/CD pipeline management.
    • Strong familiarity with testing enterprise applications deployed in cloud environments like AWS.
  • Soft Skills
    • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
    • Ability to work independently on complex tasks with minimal supervision, while also collaborating effectively within a team.
