How You’ll Make An Impact
Under direct supervision, this position is responsible for the show preparation of an assigned talk show or shows. The associate producer will meet with producers and director on a regular basis and will report to the director of college sports programming. The associate producer will help manage the flow of the show including controlling the audio console, monitoring audio levels/quality, identifying best audio as well as screen callers for the program.

What You’ll Do
- Checks studio equipment and show logs for proper functioning prior to going on air, reporting technical problems and equipment malfunctions.
- Reviews work products with supervisor.
- Monitors assigned channels for quality control and reports content error and technical issues to the appropriate individuals for correction.
- Edits audio (e.g., inserts additional clips, sound bites, etc.).
- Maintains database of program content for archival use
- Runs the audio board for various live and taped programs and edits audio for on-air use.
- Determines the appropriate mix of sound elements for assigned shows, and ensures that levels are mixed properly.
- Dubs sound from a variety of sources (e.g., CD, DAT, LP, VHS, etc.).
- Enters clip information, music and non-music elements into audio software.
- Loads and deletes clips, and rips and edits promos and spots.
- Monitors and posts on social media accounts associated with the channel.
- Ensures that on-air product is up to broadcast standards before it leaves the studios.
- Ensures that sound equipment is functioning properly during shows.
- Works with talent and producers on following programming clocks so that all content and advertisements are featured as planned.

- Works with Producers, Talent and Directors to develop creative promos and sound ideas to enhance program content.
- Chooses sound effects to enhance program image.
- Coordinates the appropriate mix of music and sound for assigned shows, and ensures that levels are mixed properly.
- Provides cues and support to Talent to facilitate with program continuity.
- Screens incoming calls and selectively chooses callers to go on-air, for the purpose of enhancing program content
- Puts listener calls through to on-air talent and ends calls.
- Works with Producers to create / edit "Best of..." programs from archives of past shows for weekend or special re-broadcasting needs.
- May provide hosts with news updates and breaking stories, on occasion.
- May assist with guest booking responsibilities.
- Assists with talent needs arising during program including guest booking and research
- Produces programs when called upon, including weekends.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- At least 2 years of experience running an audio board.
- Previous use of Prophet and Adobe Audition preferred.
- Proficiency in: Microsoft Office, Pro Tools, Cool Edit and Adobe Audition
- Social media skills, including, but not limited to: Twitter, Instagram, Facebook
- Operating studio sound equipment.
- Mixing sound elements into a professional sounding product.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and multi-task.
- Excellent creative writing and communication skills for radio.
- Highly detail oriented.
- Strong interest in Sports, current events and pop culture, as related to assigned channels /programs.
- Comfortable working with talent, artists and high profile individuals.
- Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multi-task, and work under shifting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong knowledge of various programming genres.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Availability to work nights and weekends is mandatory
- Must have working knowledge of College Sports
- Must have legal right to work in the U.S.
