How You’ll Make An Impact
SiriusXM is rapidly expanding its services to drive further engagement of consumers via smartphones, tablets, PCs, and connected devices, while continuing to maintain and grow its adoption in connected cars. As a Senior Manager, you are responsible for developing SiriusXM & Pandora applications across the Android ecosystem, while working with Product teams to harmonize performance and feature set across devices. You will be responsible for the continued development and implementation of Android-based software that ensures SiriusXM’s streaming services are best-in-class.

- Lead and grow an efficient and high performing diverse software development organization with a culture of agile development focused on developing best-in-class media entertainment experiences.
- Foster an inclusive culture for all our team members.
- Ensure high consumer satisfaction through the development and operation of large-scale, high-reliability services.
- Attract and retain the high-caliber Software Engineering talent needed to deliver against SiriusXM’s Product Roadmap through high-performance, on-time and on-budget development programs.
- Work closely with the automotive efforts to assist in bringing the next class of IP technology to the Automotive market.
- Work with the contributors on your team and your peers to ensure technical best practices are constantly developed and enforced.
- Collect and provide feedback from your team that ensures our SDLC is followed and constantly being improved.
- Drive a culture of innovation and be an agent of change.
- Identify opportunities to create new products and services that meet current and prospective market opportunities.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and learning.
- This role will manage a geographically dispersed team.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or similar field, or equivalent experience, in lieu of degree.
- 3+ years managing software engineering teams in a technical organization.
- 7+ years of Android development experience.
- Experience and proven track record of delivering and maintaining software at scale to millions of active users.
- Experience leading teams that build streaming media (audio or video) applications at scale.
- Proven ability to recruit and retain world-class engineers.
- Excellent managerial skills and interpersonal skills; effectively communicate and collaborate with all areas of engineering, ability to interact and work with staff at all levels.
- Strong understanding of engineering software processes, lifecycle methodology, configuration management, release management, and system verification and testing.
- Be obsessed with the performance of software.
- Experience delivering and distributing apps to the Google Play Store.
- Experience with Kotlin and latest Android features and technologies.
- Experience with Kotlin Coroutines – Flows and Channels.
- Experience with Android Jetpack libraries.
- Experience architecting cross functional solutions across mobile and backend teams.
- Experience with Agile software development.
- Experience with streaming technologies and audio/video playback through ExoPlayer and Media3.
- Experience troubleshooting issues with caching infrastructure and CDNs from the client-side perspective.
- Experience with Software tools such as GitHub, Jenkins, Jira, Android Studio.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a highly collaborative team environment.
- Must have legal right to work in the U.S.
