How You’ll Make An Impact

Responsible for the leadership, vision, direction of all aspects of day-to-day programming of multiple music channels for the Free Ad Supported Tier (FAST), hire, develop and mentor staff identified to maintain these channels, and develop standard procedures and operational workflows.

What You’ll Do

  • Oversee day-to-day programming for 15 ad-supported music channels
  • Manage music coordinator team assigned to this tier, assist with their professional growth and development, conduct performance evaluations
  • Work with music coordinators, programmers, and production staff to create entertaining non-musical content that appeals to the target audience including production elements, and other information and entertainment.
  • Plan and execute programming workflows in collaboration with the Ad Sales & Traffic departments ensuring geo-targeted ads are placed throughout the FAST channel tier.
  • Collaborate with producers, and associate producers to generate interstitials that fit the genres included in the channel line-up, coordinating regular updates that will peak non-subscribers’ interests with the goal of converting them to paying customers.
  • Promote hosts and special programming on various channel and across the platform to maximize the growth of subscribers and listeners.
  • Monthly review on-air performance and establish on-going goals for the team.
  • Carry out other programming related assignments as determined by the Vice President, Music Programming.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities: 2-6 coordinators

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, relevant experience.
  • 5-7 years of management experience
  • A minimum of 5 years of music programming experience. Top 25 market experience preferred.
  • Strong relationships within broadcast and music industries.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Strong track record in developing creative and breakthrough programming.
  • Mastery of music scheduling and playback software.
  • Good public speaking and presentation skills.
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to interact and work with staff at all levels.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to pay attention to details and be organized.
  • Ability to project professionalism over the phone and in person.
  • Commitment to -internal client- and customer service principles.
  • Willingness to take initiative and to follow through on projects.

  • Solid production skills with a strong working knowledge of audio equipment necessary for on-air and production execution.
  • Thorough knowledge of MS-Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio and Outlook).
  • Must have legal right to work in the U.S.

At SiriusXM, we carefully consider a wide range of factors when determining compensation, including your background and experience. These considerations can cause your compensation to vary. We expect the base salary for this position to be in the range of $74,200 to $96,450 and will depend on your skills, qualifications, and experience. Additionally, this role might be eligible for discretionary short-term and long-term incentives. We encourage all interested candidates to apply.
