How You’ll Make An Impact

The Principal Product Manager, Automotive Voice will develop voice strategy which advantages SXM on OEM platforms. They will work with partners to develop executable “Next Gen” voice UX and feature roadmap and also Manage the tactical and strategic aspects of the working relationships with Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa and Cerence. The Principal Product Manager, will collaborate closely with the SiriusXM User Experience Design team, Engineering, Quality Assurance, Marketing, Programming, Customer Care, OEM Accounts, IT, Legal, and other corporate stakeholders to clearly communicate and document the features, requirements, and product status for assigned OEM in-vehicle audio applications.

What You’ll Do

  • Contribute original thought towards a strategic vision for voice UX; follow through with process and tactics for developing, communicating, and implementing vision
  • Responsible for the prioritization and maintenance of the voice product roadmap
  • Author the product requirements for the vehicle experience
  • A conceptual understanding of ASR, TTS, NLU, Voice UI, and Multimodal UI.
  • Support engineering discussions around the architecture for how NLP/ASR can best serve the customer experience.
  • Provide design solutions at both strategic and detailed levels on mission-critical user experience
  • Provide critical feedback for Voice designs across the organization.
  • Present and defend long-term design vision as well as short-term design solutions to leadership
  • Work with internal SiriusXM teams and OEM partners to define and document new methods of interacting with products via voice
  • Make real-time decisions for assigned programs as the subject matter expert for product features and functionality
  • Create user stories, acceptance criteria and develop a prioritized backlog
  • Collaborate with product teams to define forward-looking features.
  • Work closely with other product managers to provide a consistent experience across all of SiriusXM's products
  • Performs other duties as assigned

What You’ll Need

  • 15 years experience in auto infotainment systems
  • Voice development, validation and launch experience (minimum one launch cycle, prefer more)
  • 10+ years in Product Management of consumer digital / software products
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Linguistics, Human Computer Interaction, Engineering, Cognitive Science, or a related field.
  • Understanding of speech and language technologies (speech recognition, NLU).
  • Experience in leading end-to-end VUI development process
  • Multimodal Voice Interface experience
  • Experience presenting to and influencing senior management.
  • Experience in Product Management and/or development of complex serving systems for web and/or mobile applications
  • Knowledge of Jira and Agile/Scrum software development methodologies
  • Agile training and experience preferred
  • Streaming media experience a big plus

At SiriusXM, we carefully consider a wide range of factors when determining compensation, including your background and experience. These considerations can cause your compensation to vary. We expect the base salary for this position to be in the range of $136,000 to $207,550 and will depend on your skills, qualifications, and experience. Additionally, this role might be eligible for discretionary short-term and long-term incentives. We encourage all interested candidates to apply.
