Job Purpose:

Oversee and examine production electronics outputs to ensure that they conform to specifications and internal company standards as set out by Simera Sense.

Responsibilities:

Inspection and Testing

  • Conduct inspections of incoming electronic components, parts, and assemblies to ensure they meet quality standards
  • Perform in-process and final inspections of electronics sub-assemblies and integrated assemblies
  • Verify machine setups and conduct first article inspections on production lines

Quality Assurance:

  • Assist engineering and production teams with investigations of failures and quality issues
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards such as ISO 9001, AS9100, and ECSS
  • Maintain and improve quality control procedures and documentation

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Keep accurate records of inspections, test results, and quality control activities
  • Compile defect reports and maintain logs of non-conformances
  • Prepare and maintain inspection checklists and quality control documentation

Supplier Quality Management:

  • Review and verify the quality of incoming electronics goods and assemblies from suppliers
  • Manage non-conformance reports and coordinate with Quality Engineers to resolve quality issues

Calibration and Maintenance:

  • Assist with the calibration and maintenance of inspection and testing equipment
  • Ensure all equipment is calibrated and maintained according to the schedule

Continuous Improvement:

  • Implement and maintain 5S workplace organisation and cleanliness standards
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality and efficiency

Required Qualifications:

Advanced Certificate or Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical / Electronic Engineering

Required Experience:

  • A minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience in implementing and maintaining quality control procedures, conducting electronics inspections, and ensuring compliance with industry standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ASME) is crucial
  • Prior work in aerospace, electronics manufacturing, or related fields where precision and adherence to strict quality standards are essential
  • Familiarity with MEP systems, quality control procedures, and industry-specific standards
  • Experience in developing, implementing, and maintaining quality control documentation and inspection test plans
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100, and ECSS standards is crucial
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings, specifications, and documentation
  • Proficiency in various inspection methods and tools, including first article inspections and non-conformance management
  • Experience with QMS, including configuration management and maintaining quality control documentation
  • Competence in using software tools such as MS Office and specialised quality management software

Recommendations:

  • Knowledge of ISO9001, AS9100 and ECSS standards will be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of Siemens Teamcenter
