ROLE DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
6-month internship, starting in July 2026
This is an exciting opportunity to become part of the Flight Dynamics Development team in a fast-paced, global organization within an innovative and unique industry.
Based in Luxembourg, you will contribute to the modernization of the department software tools for an improved user experience.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES / KEY RESULT AREAS
- [first week] Understand the department use cases, current static plotting functionalities of FORTRAN90/ADA tools in respect to modern standards/frameworks for dynamic plotting
- [first month] Design and present the desired architecture for dynamic plotting, including a timeline with steps for achieving the final state from the current functionalities
- [following months] Start prototyping, present proof of concepts, implement changes, while reviewing the architecture design and timeline (agile development)
- [extended goal] Support the transition of the python codebase plotting functionalities away from matplotlib
Documentation, reporting, and traceability of all steps is required.
COMPETENCIES
- Strong interest in the space business and technical interest in satellites
- Ability to set priorities and to work under tight deadlines
- Ability to present results, take initiative, and suggest improvements
- Knowledge of software development practices (sourcecode control via git, ticketing system, reporting, etc.)
- Experience with software development support systems (from stack overflow to AI coding assistants)
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Master’s student in Engineering or Computer Science or in a relevant technical area;
- Demonstrated experience with software development, especially data presentation (plots, charts, etc.)
- Experience with python, FOTRAN90, ADA is considered an asset
- Experience with Linux CLI and bash scripting is considered an asset
OTHER KEY REQUIREMENTS / COMMENTS
- Computer literate (MS PowerPoint, Excel, Access);
- Easiness to communicate at all levels;
- Fluency in spoken and written English with additional languages considered an asset.
- EU nationality or work permit for Luxembourg.
