At SES we are passionate about making a difference and have a committed team to building our impact into the ways in which we do business. The incumbent supports SES’s broader ESG strategy by driving the development and implementation of the company’s Climate Action Plan. This includes defining and advancing pathways to reduce the company’s environmental impact across energy use, waste streams, and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. The role will shape sciencebased climate targets, steer data collection and reporting (including CSRD/ESRS), and ensure crossfunctional alignment across opera-tions, finance, procurement, engineering, and customerfacing team.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

This role leads the development and execution of SES’s Climate Action Plan, focusing on decarbonisation across energy use, waste, and greenhousegas emissions. It drives the modelling and delivery of SBTialigned targets, ensures highquality CSRD/ESRS reporting, and works crossfunctionally to embed climate action into operations, risk management, and customerfacing activities.

Climate Strategy & Planning

  • Develop and update SES’s Climate Action Plan covering energy management, waste reduction, CO mitigation, and operational efficiency improvements.
  • Lead the definition and modelling of SBTialigned targets, including scenario analysis and businesscase modelling for decarbonisation levers.
  • Integrate climate considerations into enterprise risk management, including physical and transition climate risks.

GHG Accounting & Environmental Reporting

  • Collect, calculate, and report GHG emissions across Scope 1, 2, and 3 using recognised methodologies and tools.
  • Collect, calculate, and report climaterelated environmental metrics beyond GHG emissions as required for internal and external disclosure.
  • Lead CSRD/ESRSaligned climate reporting and contribute to other frameworks (GRI, CDP, SASB, Ecovadis).
  • Develop and update SES’s Climate Action Plan covering energy management, waste reduction, CO mitigation, and operational efficiency improvements

Operational Impact & Footprint Reduction

  • Lead or support assessments of SES sites to quantify environmental impacts (energy, waste, water, emissions, other footprint indicators).
  • Identify, validate, and implement measures to reduce SES’s environmental footprint, collaborating with operations, engineering, facilities, and procurement teams.
  • Develop and oversee highquality offset or neutralisation programs where relevant.
  • Contribute to more circular product and operational practices.

Cross-functional collaboration

  • Partner with product teams, sales, and customerfacing functions to align SES climate action with customer expectations and opportunities.
  • Work crossfunctionally to support ESG strategy execution and drive climate integration across the business.

COMPETENCIES

  • Skilled in calculating Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions, applying recognised methodologies and emissionfactor databases.
  • Strong understanding of CSRD/ESRS, GRI, CDP, SASB and related climatereporting requirements.
  • Ability to develop SBTi-aligned pathways, run scenario and businesscase modelling, and support NetZero target setting.
  • Experience identifying, quantifying, and integrating physical and transition climate risks.
  • Proficiency in assessing energy use, waste streams, and operational environmental impacts.
  • Proficiency with environmental accounting software, carbonmanagement tools, and data platforms.
  • Understanding of circular design principles and their application to products and operations.
  • High level of ownership, selfdirection, and initiative.
  • Curiosity and drive for continuous improvement of climaterelated systems and processes.
  • Ability to work effectively within a distributed, international team.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Master’s degree in environmental engineering, sustainability, climate science or similar field.
  • Certification or training in sustainability, GHG accounting, carbon management, or ESG topics.
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience with at least 2 years in a climaterelated role, including responsibility for emissions, climate strategy, or climate risk.
  • Demonstrated experience with GHG accounting, climate risk assessment, and SBTi target development.
  • Familiarity with sustainability reporting frameworks including CSRD (ESRS), GRI, CDP, SASB, Ecovadis.
  • Proven track record working crossfunctionally to develop or implement climate or environmental strategies.
  • Proficiency with environmental accounting tools, data platforms, and carbonmanagement software.
