Senior Engineer, Asset Management
SES is recruiting a Senior Engineer, Asset Managment who will manage and proactively contribute to the integration of new customers and/or products into mPOWER constellation. This role focuses on the optimization of the satellites and gateway resources based on the commercial opportunities and products characteristics. The planning approach shall include a broad perspective within the context of GEO/MEO multi-orbit planning landscape and Lifecycle Service Orchestration (LSO) architecture.
Your responsiblities include, but are not limited to:
- Management of day-to-day activities for satellite and gateway resources of mPOWER in both short and long-term timeframes. This includes:
- Optimization of mPOWER satellites constellation and gateways resources
- Advise on resources availability for mPOWER constellation and approve resources
- Proactive analysis of constellation resources reconfiguration and contribution to planning for the integration of new assets into the constellation
- Proactively contribute to the development of customer solutions with complex MEO and GEO resources assignment issues, liaising and communicating with relevant internal stakeholders
- Continued development of Asset Management processes for allocating, managing and reporting mPOWER resources within overall Asset Management planning perspective and proactively advise on process enhancements to fulfil AM tasks within the Lead-to-order and Order-to-fulfilment CRM flows
- Supports the development of Asset Management requirements for mPOWER related resources management and optimization tools. In particular:
- Lead and drive mPOWER interim resources planning tools readiness
- Drive automated resources availability reporting scheme for mPOWER and contribute to the development of dashboards
- As part of Emergency Response Team contribute to the AM input to complex (e.g. s/c failure, gateway failure) contingency and restoration activities.
Your Profile:
Qualifications & Experience
- Engineering bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) or demonstrable equivalent work experience in lieu of formal qualifications
- 5-7 years professional experience with 3 or more years in capacity management and/or optimization of satellite or terrestrial networks
- Technical knowledge of platform technologies, satellite technology, satellite network operations and earth stations is a plus
- Ability to work well in a multi-cultural, international environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
- Strong programming skills in Pythos is a must- Java, R, Excel/VBA, MATLAB and PowerBI is a plus
