ROLE DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

The Digital Architect for BSS/OSS role is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the digital architecture artifacts and, envision and design solutions in order to bring the business capabilities to the level required by the company strategy and business plan.

In this role you will work closely with business stakeholders, product owners, developers, and other architects to ensure alignment of the digital vision, strategy, and architecture across the organization.

You must ensure compliance with relevant standards, policies, and best practices.

The BSS Digital Architect will be responsible for the end-to-end architecture of Business Support Systems (BSS) with a strong focus on product modelling. This role involves developing high-level architectural designs that efficiently utilize current technical capabilities, identifying technology gaps, and ensuring alignment with the company’s digital architecture roadmap. The architect will also be involved in product lifecycle management, from lead to order through service assurance critical to the company’s success in the telecommunications industry. This role involves creating and maintaining an architecture roadmap aligned with the company’s business plan, incorporating industry standards and best practices. The Enterprise Architect will lead in the design and implementation of key business transformation programs focused on digital transformation activities to realize the business strategy

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES / KEY RESULT AREAS

• Contribute and evolve the BSS/OSS architecture vision and capabilities in line with the company’s strategic objectives.
• Develop and maintain a product modelling framework that supports efficient product lifecycle management and aligns with the SES capability increment process.
• Provide architectural oversight across BSS/OSS domains, ensuring integration and alignment with the overall digital architecture.

COMPETENCIES

• Ability to work on small to large, complex projects that require increased skill in multiple technical environments.
• Knowledge in telecommunications industry.
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to gain consensus on new process concepts and build coalitions to move process improvement forward.
• Proficiency in data architecture and the overall design of the enterprise-wide data/information architecture.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 8 years proven experience in BSS/OSS architecture and design
• strong understanding of enterprise architecture as a discipline.
• Having worked in Communication Service Providers delivering data and video products and running digital transformation.
• TM forum ODA and/or MEF LSO knowledge. Certification on one/both area(s) will be a plus

OTHER KEY REQUIREMENTS / COMMENTS

• Strong knowledge of product design following the product-service-resource approach from TMForum.
• Ability to understand complex problem, translate them to simpler solution.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Strong know how of all the BSS/OSS components and their importance and working.
• Architect and design high level design on BSS/OSS components.
• Keen on learning new things and sometimes unlearn old/legacy thought process.
• Brainstorm, ideate, propose solutions with various stakeholders.
• Think out of the box and do away with traditional solution design mindset.
• Lead and manage customer requirement discussions and come up with precise and accurate high level/low level design.
• Support IT delivery process right from the inception of project and till the postproduction support.
• Work with multiple teams (internal stakeholders and partners) and co-ordinate design/development activities.
• Work and manage multiple projects and in multiple domains at a time.
• Software development background (or awareness of SDLC) and awareness of cloud-based technologies is needed.
• Awareness of SNO and its operating model (from NSS/OSS/BSS perspective) will be an asset but not mandatory.
• Ability to stay up to date on the latest technologies and trends.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
