ROLE DESCRIPTION:
IRIS2 is the new European Union secure satellite constellation. This project is the European Union's answer to the pressing challenges of tomorrow to provide secure connectivity services and enhanced communication capacities to the EU and its Member States as well as to governmental users, private companies and European citizens while ensuring high-speed internet broadband to cope with connectivity dead zones.
We are looking for a Senior Manager, Systems Engineering Lead to join the new and expanding IRIS2 team in our Luxembourg HQ. In this role, you will over oversee the relevant systems engineering activities and to maintain the overall end to end system view and coherency. The role involves managing interactions with the EU, ESA, and project partners on systems engi-neering matters, ensuring that we meet our contractual obligations. You will also be involved in leading the design, development, and deployment of satellite systems, ensuring technical excellence and alignment with organizational goals.

You will be responsible for (this is not an exhaustive list):
- Lead technical Systems matters in IRIS2 program
- Defend SES interests into SpaceRise consortium and IRIS2 program, ensuring MEO objectives are fulfilled through the program
- Coordinate SpaceRise activities with customer, partners and subcontractors
- Lead coordination between SES backoffice teams with SpaceRise partners and IRIS2 customers to ensure adequate and efficient contribution/review to all non SES lead IRIS2 deliverables, follow-up of actions, participation in meetings
- Lead production by the team of all IRIS2 technical deliverables under the segments for which SES is responsible
- Ensure adequate coordination and alignment of of MEO, and IRIS2 multiorbital mission implementation
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to meet milestones and deliverables
- Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define project requirements and ensure alignment with organizational objectives
YOUR PROFILE
- Must have
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience
- Successful experience in managing large EU and ESA projects
- Proven experience in managing technical teams in complex engineering projects
- Familiarity with hardware and software development and in end-to-end systems integration
- Strong experience in end-to-end satellite systems engineering
- Strong Experience with satellite ground station operations and network management
- All applicants must be native to a EU member state and willing to undergo a EU secret clearance process
- Willing to work at least 66% onsite from office
- Travel as required for project realization purposes
