Satellite Software Defined Radio Demonstrator Intern

CONTEXT
The setup of a test link using 5G New Radio (NR) Non-Terrestrial Network (NTN) link from a test User Equipment (UE) to a base station gNB, the link. This internship is intended to automate a test setup with test procedures scripting languages, which allow to run tests and collect results in a systematic manner.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Work in the System Engineering team within SES Engineering in Betzdorf, Luxembourg
• Work in the 5G team within System Engineering on a 5G NR-NTN test setup, which aims to test novel 5G test link technologies for satellite link use cases using 3GPP NR-NTN
• Automate test procedures of a 5G NTN test link including a User Equipment emulator, a channel emulator and a base station emulator in 5G NR-NTN setup
• Use Python and scripting languages to automate test configuration and results collection
YOUR PROFILE
• Current student in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology or in a relevant area
• Strong interest in coding required, preferably Python but any relevant coding experience is considered a good basis
• Good practical electronics knowledge is considered a big advantage
• Highly motivated learner and practical problem solver
• Fluency in spoken and written English with additional languages considered an asset
• EU-citizens or work permit for Luxembourg
