We are seeking a Senior RF Electronics Engineer to lead design and development of Scout hardware systems. As a Senior Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the hardware development of Scout's on-orbit perception and autonomy capabilities.
Responsibilities:
- Perform high-frequency RF modeling, analysis, and board-level receiver and electronics design
- Design custom PCBs for RF and optical space payloads
- Support the embedded software and firmware development for object detection with RF and optical sensors
- Perform trade studies on available COTS hardware and the potential need for custom designs
- Develop and maintain technical documentation for component-level and payload assembly, integration, and test
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, RF Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of RF/electrical/software design experience specific to space systems
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages, including C++, C, python, or MATLAB
- Expert Altium user
- Recent experience with VHDL or Verilog and Xilinx FPGAs
- Hands-on experience integrating hardware and software systems
- Thorough understanding of the impacts of the space environment on electronics
- Enthusiastic attitude towards individual and teamwork and collaborating with geographically diverse offices
- Proven track record of payload design lifecycle completion, including proposal, design, manufacture, assembly, test, and integration
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate complex concepts and technical information clearly and concisely
Preferred Qualifications:
- Expert FPGA development experience
- Experience detecting objects in space with RF sensors
- Experience with motor controllers
- Ability to tackle multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience working and collaborating in a fast-paced, small team environment.

Our positions are based in Reston, Virginia, with much of our team operating in a hybrid or remote fashion.
