As a space systems engineer at KaleidEO (A subsidiary of SatSure), you will be responsible for collaborating with different teams to realize the mission goals. This will mainly involve tracing and tracking requirements, system budgets, interfaces, and verification methodology for different subsystems of the satellite. This is a highly cross-functional role, where you will be working with engineers from mission design, payload development, electronics systems and satellite systems team throughout the lifecycle of the project – conceptual design to implementation to launch and operations of the satellite.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Definition, management and tracking of requirements of different subsystems for the payloads and satellite systems.
  • Analyze and interpret high-level requirements to flow down requirements with different sub-system engineers to follow up and ensure traceability.
  • Evaluate and maintain various technical budgets for different sub-systems of the satellite.
  • Perform system-level trade studies to evaluate and negotiate different technical solution proposals by subcontractors.
  • Documentation of requirements, interfaces, and compliance to present at milestone reviews
  • Support cross-functional system design reviews to ensure requirements and interface compliance.
  • Work closely with external stakeholders to review design requirements, resolve issues, and develop test and integration approaches.
  • Develop interface requirements, CONOPS definitions, and other design documents in collaboration with team members.
  • Coordinate with the project management team to meet project milestones.
Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree in Aerospace/Mechanical engineering or relevant discipline .
  • 2-3 years of experience in the similar field.
Must haves:
  • A good understanding of overall satellite design and interaction between subsystems.
  • Basic knowledge of EO satellite mission design and trade-offs.
  • Demonstrated technical experience in working on a specific satellite subsystem.
  • Experience in working on complex engineering projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to clearly define system engineering approaches and objectives.
  • Basic working experience in programming in Python.
  • Experience with working on satellite platform or subsystem assembly, integration and test campaigns.
  • Experience in working with multiple multi-disciplinary teams to realise at least one hardware throughout its lifecycle.
Good to haves:
  • Experience with opto-mechanical systems or space payload structures.
  • Familiarity with MATLAB/Python, STK and mechanical or optics design tools (e.g., CAD - NX or Solidworks, Zemax), or similar
  • Developed and maintained interface control documents.
  • Familiarity with payload alignment and stability requirements.
  • Understanding of launch load environments and qualification processes
