About Satellogic

Satellogic is a vertically integrated Earth Observation company that designs, manufactures, and operates satellite systems, delivering decision-grade insights at scale to government and commercial customers.

We build space systems end-to-end, from satellite design and manufacturing to launch and on-orbit operations, giving us the ability to deploy quickly, operate reliably, and support persistent monitoring across regions and priority areas. Our approach moves customers beyond one-off imagery toward continuous awareness and alert-driven decision-making, with flexible pathways that can evolve from managed monitoring to full satellite ownership and sovereign control.

Our technology supports a wide range of use cases across climate monitoring, agriculture, energy, infrastructure, defense and intelligence, helping organizations detect change, manage risk, and plan with confidence.

With a team distributed across five countries, Satellogic brings together expertise in satellite engineering, software development, data science, manufacturing, operations, and go-to-market. We’re a group of purpose-driven builders who value ownership, curiosity, and execution—and who work with humility, honesty, and empathy.

Role Overview

We are looking for a detail-oriented and curious Semisenio Financial Analyst to join our finance team. In this role, you will be the "engine room" of our financial operations—supporting the preparation of budgets, maintaining our planning systems, and providing the data-driven insights that guide our leadership. This is an ideal role for someone who loves numbers, is eager to master financial modeling, and wants to leverage AI tools to modernize traditional finance workflows.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Planning & Reporting Support

Model Maintenance: Own the preparation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the annual budget, rolling forecasts, and long-range financial model; proactively identify modeling gaps and enhance structural integrity

Monthly Reporting: Compile and format monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for internal distribution; ensure accuracy of data inputs and outputs.

Variance Analysis: Conduct in-depth variance analysis versus budget and prior periods; independently identify root causes, articulate key performance drivers, and surface actionable insights for decision-makers

Planning: Take an active lead in managing and optimizing the internal planning tool (Adaptive Planning), including system configuration, user support, and process improvements to enhance FP&A efficiency.

2. Business Partnering & Data Analysis

Cross-Functional Support: Serve as Finance contact for Accounting, Engineering, Commercial, and Operations teams; translate business activity into financial terms and ensure models reflect operational reality.

KPI Tracking: Design, own, and continuously improve financial dashboards and KPI frameworks that provide leadership with real-time visibility into business performance

Ad Hoc Analysis: Respond to ad hoc data requests from senior finance team members, preparing clear summaries and tables to support decision-making.

AI & Automation: Identify, design, and implement AI-powered and automation solutions to modernize FP&A workflows, reduce manual effort, and increase reporting speed and accuracy.

3. Treasury & Operations Support

Cash Management: Own the preparation and analysis of weekly and monthly global cash position reports; provide forward-looking liquidity insights and recommendations to the Treasury team.

FX Monitoring: Monitor and analyze multi-currency exposures across global entities; proactively identify material FX risks and partner with senior finance on mitigation strategies.

Banking support: Serve as the primary operational relationship manager with banking partners, ensuring smooth day-to-day banking operations and leading the resolution of complex inquiries.

Required Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (or final year of study).

Experience: 2–6 years of relevant experience in FP&A, corporate finance, accounting, investment banking, or a related internship.

Excel Skills: Solid proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, basic modeling); exposure to financial modeling is a plus.

Google Suite: Proficiency in Google Workspace, with a focus on advanced data modeling in Sheets. Proven ability to leverage cloud-based collaboration tools to streamline cross-functional workflows and maintain secure, organized Drive ecosystems

Analytical and Research Mindset: Comfortable working with large datasets; strong attention to detail and accuracy required to develop clear, structured narratives that effectively advise leadership.

Communication: Clear written and verbal communication skills; ability to present numbers in a simple, structured way.

GAAP Awareness: Solid working knowledge of US GAAP, including revenue recognition, accruals, depreciation, and public company reporting requirements.

What we value

• Experience supporting SEC filings, earnings releases, or investor relations in a public company environment.

• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional projects and influence without direct authority.

• Passion for aerospace, satellite technology, defense, or high-tech industries.

• Experience building or scaling FP&A automation using AI tools, Python, or BI platforms (e.g., Looker, Power BI, Tableau).

• Proficiency in Spanish and English.

• High ownership mentality, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to thrive in ambiguity in a global, remote-first environment.
