The Role
The Product Marketing Manager (PMM) will be an execution expert, focused on delivering the go-to-market (GTM) strategy for our core offerings. This role acts as a critical link between Product Development, Marketing, and Sales, translating our technical capabilities into clear, compelling customer value. The PMM is responsible for developing and executing the messaging, content, and sales enablement materials needed to drive commercial success for our data products.
This is an execution-focused role that will report to Satellogic’s President.
Key Responsibilities
The PMM is responsible for executing the core product marketing functions across the product lifecycle:
1. Market Strategy & Insights Support
- Market Research: Conduct competitor analysis, market research, and customer interviews to gather insights that inform product strategy and GTM planning.
- Commercial Support: Support senior leadership in the analysis of pricing, packaging, and commercial positioning structures for the data and imagery components.
2. Messaging & Positioning Development
- Value Translation: Develop and refine clear, compelling, and differentiated messaging that translates complex data features (e.g., temporal frequency, resolution) into quantifiable customer benefits and successful product narratives.
- Audience Expertise: Deeply understand target personas and use cases to tailor messaging that resonates with specific segments.
3. Go-to-Market (GTM) Execution
- Launch Management: Execute specific GTM activities for new product launches and feature updates, ensuring internal and external readiness.
- Content Creation: Develop and produce high-impact marketing assets and content (e.g., blogs, solution briefs, case studies, website copy, sales presentations) to educate the market and generate demand.
- Demand Generation Partnership: Partner with the Corporate Marketing team to support integrated campaigns with appropriate product messaging and content.
4. Sales Enablement
- Training Delivery: Contribute to the design and deliver product training sessions to the global sales, pre-sales, and customer success teams.
- Content Management: Maintain and update essential sales tools and materials, such as battlecards and sales playbooks, ensuring they are current and effective.
5. Cross-functional Collaboration
- Product Partnership: Partner with Product Management, providing continuous customer feedback and market insights to inform feature development and roadmap prioritization.
- Alignment: Work closely with the Sales and Marketing teams to ensure a cohesive message and strategy are consistently deployed across all touchpoints.
6. Performance Monitoring
- Tracking: Track and analyze product sales, campaign effectiveness, and key adoption metrics (e.g., data usage, customer engagement).
- Reporting: Report on marketing initiative performance and suggest adjustments to optimize GTM efforts.
Required Skills & Experience
- 5-10 years of experience in product marketing, marketing, or a related GTM role, ideally in a B2B SaaS/DaaS environment.
- Proven ability to develop compelling positioning, messaging, and high-quality marketing collateral.
- Experience with data products, DaaS (Data as a Service), or marketing complex technical hardware products is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with the Earth Observation or geospatial related technology domain is a strong plus.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a keen eye for detail and design.
- Strong collaboration skills and comfort working across technical, sales, and marketing teams.
- Fluency in English is required.
