Your mission
- Team and Technical Leadership: Lead and mentor the Platform Engineering team while driving planning and execution. You'll manage team capacity, support professional development, and foster a collaborative environment. As a technical leader, you'll architect cloud platform solutions, review designs, and ensure high standards for code and infrastructure quality while driving engineering best practices adoption
- Platform Development & Automation: Take charge of developing cloud platform features and services with a strong focus on infrastructure automation. Guide API implementations and deployment strategies while ensuring platform security and compliance. You'll help establish and maintain the technical foundation and building blocks that enable our teams to work efficiently and securely to help to deliver our mission.
- Cross-Team Collaboration: Partner with multiple teams including SRE for reliability, security for cloud platform controls, and various software development teams to ensure smooth operations. You'll support FinOps practices and manage stakeholder relationships across segment teams, ensuring alignment and effective communication throughout the business
What you bring on the table
- You're a cloud platform expert. Deep knowledge of major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, OpenStack) combined with expertise in Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and CloudFormation is essential. Your strong container orchestration skills with Kubernetes and advanced GitOps knowledge (ArgoCD, ArgoRollouts) enable you to build robust, scalable systems
- You're a skilled developer and tooling specialist. Strong coding abilities in Python, Golang, and Bash, coupled with expert-level understanding of CI/CD pipelines and GitOps practices form your technical foundation. You bring advanced knowledge of service mesh technologies, API management, and infrastructure testing automation to ensure reliable platform operations
- You understand security and networking deeply. Strong cloud security knowledge, including IAM, security automation, and compliance implementation, combined with advanced networking expertise in areas like VPC architecture, global load balancing, and BGP, ensures robust and secure platform design
- You're an experienced leader. With 8+ years in Platform Engineering, DevOps, or SRE roles and 2+ years of team leadership, you know how to guide teams effectively. Your background in cloud platforms, infrastructure automation, and successful platform delivery demonstrates your ability to drive results while growing team capabilities
- You excel at communication and collaboration. Your ability to mentor technical teams, plan projects and roadmaps, and manage stakeholder relationships helps create a positive and productive engineering culture. You understand that success comes from both technical excellence and effective team collaboration

Rivada Space Networks is deploying the Outernet: the first unified global communications network. Rivada's global low-latency point-to-point network of 600 low earth orbit (LEO) satellites is a unique next-generation constellation combining inter-satellite laser links with advanced onboard processing and routing to create a ubiquitous optical mesh network in space. This "orbital network," in which data stays in space from origin to destination, creates an ultra-secure satellite network with pole-to-pole coverage, offering end-to-end latencies much lower than terrestrial fiber over long distances. And by routing traffic on a physically separated network, it provides a layer of defense for any organization that needs to securely share data between widely distributed sites.
