What you'll do
The Business Analytics and Capacity Planning team operates at the intersection of demand, supply and commercial decision-making to ensure Viasat is able to provide great experience for its customers. Being a part of this team puts you at the centre of Viasat's decision-making, both in the short-term and far into the future.
You'll use your technical skills to understand how demand and supply are distributed through space and time, and your interpersonal skills to build relationships within Viasat Commercial Services to ensure that the right decisions are being made to ensure long-term profitable growth. The work you'll do will directly impact the decisions Viasat makes.
You'll be working with all areas of the business. Every day will present opportunities to engage with new connections and overcome fresh obstacles.
The day-to-day
This is a multi-disciplinary role so each day will be different. On a given day you might be:
- Exploring a wide variety data to infer trends and develop insights.
- Developing tooling using big data and AI tools.
- Collaborating with interested parties from across the business to understand capacity and commercial needs.
- Communicating your findings to senior leadership and business stakeholders.
What you'll need
- Completion of a BSc or MSc in a STEM subject (or equivalent experience).
- Demonstrated proficiency in applying big data tools like Google BigQuery.
- Proficient in SQL.
- Proficient in Python.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Excellent analytical skills.
- Exposure to workflow orchestration tools e.g. Prefect, Airflow.
- Experience applying geospatial tools and technologies e.g. H3.
- Familiarity with time series data analysis.
