Communicator. Facilitator. Leader. Sound like you? As a Program Manager at Viasat, you will play all these roles and more! You will lead existing and new programs within the Viasat Real-Time Earth (RTE) business area, providing Ground Segment-as-a-Service to satellite operators through a network of antennas spanning six continents. Programs are typically multi-year service awards from domestic and international customers in both the public and private sector.
Your experience working cross-functionally within Viasat business areas and externally with customers will enable you to meet key commitments throughout the customer lifecycle.
The day-to-day
The Program Manager is a critical position responsible for owning the RTE customer experience. You will be empowered to lead change within the business area to increase efficiency and customer satisfaction.
In this role you will track, monitor, and act on contractual and financial obligations. Key to this role is leading the implementation of the NASA Near Space Network (NSN) Services contract. The NSN Services contract is a 10yr, $4.8B IDIQ contract to commercialize all NASA communications and navigation requirements from Earth to 2-million kilometers in space. As Program Manager, you will play a pivotal role in building customer trust and growing Viasat’s role in this contract vehicle.
What you'll need
- 5+ years of Program Management experience
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or equivalent technical experience
- Extensive experience with MS Project
- Proven strong financial experience in EVMS or similar cost and schedule management systems
- Skilled in structured risk management processes
- Extensive problem-solving skills, demonstrated leadership in the face of sudden setbacks
- Outstanding communication, decision-making, negotiation, and problem-solving skills are key enablers for success in the role
- Travel up to 25% may be required
- US Citizenship required
What will help you on the job
- Master's Degree or equivalent experience in a technical field
- Experience managing project requirements for DoD or other USG end users
- Familiarity with satellite communications and ground station operations
- Steadfast customer focus, a passion for excellence, and a one-team approach describe the successful candidate
Salary range
$124,000.00 - $195,500.00 / annually. For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $143,000.00- $215,000.00/ annually
