Are you ready to control and grow your career? Our company has grown into one of the largest defense contractors in the country, managing multimillion-dollar contracts and designing and building everything from satellite payloads to interactive simulation stations. How cool is that?

As a Viasat Sourcing and Procurement Intern, you will work on projects with external suppliers and internal cross-functional partners in Supply Chain, Program Management, Engineering, Legal, Finance and more to ensure achievement of strategic initiatives on critical Government program(s).


The day-to-day

This intern will take on special projects and continuous improvement efforts that are key to Supply Chain success. Examples include: supplier spend consolidation, buyer transaction consolidation, compliance improvement and others. We are also interested in fostering your professional development and career goals.

Internship Program Details:

  • You will work onsite at a Viasat office location for the duration of your 12-13 week internship. Viasat embraces a flexible work environment and onsite/hybrid work is determined by individual roles and teams

  • Housing and relocation assistance are available to interns pending eligibility

  • To ensure equity across our intern population, intern compensation is pre-determined based on a variety of factors including: role, location, and final graduation date. Intern compensation is non-negotiable


What you'll need

Education Requirements:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Business or related field
  • To be eligible for this position your final graduation date must fall between December 2025 and June 2026

Internship Dates:

  • You must be available for the full duration of the 12-13 week internship program. Note limited exceptions may be granted. Viasat offers two options based on semester and quarter academic calendars:

    • Cohort 1: May 20th, 2025 – August 15th, 2025

    • Cohort 2: June 17th, 2025 – September 12th, 2025

Additional Requirements:

  • Skilled user of Microsoft Office suite of business software is required: Word, Excel, and Power Point
  • Must have excellent communication skills, including verbal, written, and presentation skills including the ability to present to Sr. Managers

What will help you on the job

  • Familiarity with Continuous Improvement methodologies (LEAN, Six Sigma, etc)
  • Financial acumen
  • Interest in technical operations and sourcing

Salary range

$20.91 - $56.97 / hourly. For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $25.96 - $67.07/ hourly
