What you'll do
Viasat is seeking a new inventory Specialist to work on-site in Duluth, GA! Duties include:
- Management of inventory process controls to ensure cost, schedule, and quality goals are met in execution of global fulfillment of contractual requirements
- Empowerment to use your initiative in a variety of tasks in support of our Manufacturing, Service, and Engineering departments
- Kitting materials for scheduled production, filling work order shortages as goods are received and pulling materials against manual requisitions
- Duties will directly support on-time deliverables
- Liaise with internal departments such as Quality, Procurement, Engineering, and Test groups
The day-to-day
- Performing daily cycle counts, inbounding materials from receiving to stockroom locations, investigating the cause of inventory variances, and monitoring the access to our work areas
- Process material sourcing requests via manual request templates or the employment of mobile directed picking methodologies on the mobile devices
- Support customer and organic system shipment requirements through validation of packing information sheets, shipping container loading and systematic inventory consumption transactions
What you'll need
- 3+ years experience in material control and physical inventory maintenance
- Experience with warehouse inventory stocking, receipt processing and consumption practices in a high-tech manufacturing environment
- Experience operating powered industrial trucks, (forklifts and reach lifts)
- Experience using Oracle, SAP, or comparable ERP Inventory and Manufacturing modules
- Proficient with hazardous material handling and storage
- Prominent level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation
- Demonstrate excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively to meet goals while maintaining an organized and systematic approach to task completion
- US Citizenship required
- Travel up to 5%
What will help you on the job
- Experience with cycle counting processes and variance resolution
- Experience managing inventory with projected data
- Government contracting inventory experience preferred
- Proficient in receipt and handling of ESD/MSD sensitive materials
- Experience and/or exposure to continuous process improvement methodologies
- Proficient with MS Office Suite, including Excel and Word
- Possess or be able to obtain a Secret clearance
Salary range
$17.31 - $28.99 / hourly
