What you'll do

We are thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for a Financial Analyst to join our dynamic team in Carlsbad, CA! This hybrid role offers the unique blend of working collaboratively within our Carlsbad office and the flexibility of remote work.

The Financial Planning & Analysis team is seeking an intelligent, motivated Financial Analyst to partner with our leadership team to enable growth for our business. This position will work closely with all levels of management and across various organizations to support the financial planning and analysis function. You must be able to communicate effectively with team members and business partners while tailoring the message to suit the audience. As an integral team member, you should have the capacity to evaluate the situation, identify trends & opportunities, provide actionable insights & recommendations, and implement effectively. In addition, process excellence and project management skills will be critical in this role.


The day-to-day

  • Drive an understanding of the expense drivers for assigned functions and provide insight and analysis into the financials
  • Utilize financial planning, cost accounting, internal reporting and other data sources to deliver business insight to the leadership teams
  • Annual (Operating Plan), Quarterly, and long-term (Strategic Plan) forecasting of operating expenses, capital spends and headcount
  • Dive deep into cost structure from both a business and functional level by analyzing labor, non-labor, and other elements of cost, and creating metrics to validate cost assumptions
  • Aggregating, cleansing, and reconciliation of disparate forms of data to drive structured reporting and inform business insights/decisions
  • Report actual results on a monthly basis, with value added variance analysis versus forecast, plan, and prior year; summarize commentary and narrative illustrating key points and drivers
  • Identify opportunities and highlight risks as well as influence targeted metrics through collaborative and constructive teamwork with business leaders and individual contributors
  • Establish and maintain strong, cross-functional business relationships with business leaders and segment teams across the company, and clearly understand business processes and goals through effective and collaborative teamwork
  • Support the development of financial automation and reporting tools

What you'll need

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, analytics, economics or related is required
  • 1 to 3 years of financial or analytical development, and/or data analysis and modeling experience preferably with a background in high tech, consulting, or product/BI analytics
  • Intermediate Excel skills including v-lookup and/or pivot tables
  • Experience with reporting and visualization platforms (e.g. Tableau, Power BI)
  • Ability to effectively communicate with a team and stakeholders
  • Self-starter with an ability to learn new concepts quickly
  • Outstanding integrity and the ability to be calm, make good decisions and recognize when they need to change path / correct

Salary range

$64,100.00 - $111,400.00 / annually
