Senior Analysis Engineer
Reflect Orbital
At Reflect, you will be expected to move fast, have a lot of ownership and, most importantly, be able to effect change. If this excites you, we are interested in hearing about your best work and accomplishments across any domain and from any points in your life.
About the Role
As a Senior Analysis Engineer, you’ll be responsible for the advanced mechanical and thermal analysis that ensures our spacecraft performs reliably in the harsh environment of space. From building complex finite element models and running simulations, to interpreting test data and iterating with design teams, you’ll guide critical design decisions across multiple subsystems. You’ll also have significant influence on structural and thermal architectures, ensuring every part of the spacecraft meets flight requirements.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain FEA/thermal models to predict spacecraft performance under launch and on-orbit conditions
Perform load analysis, vibration analysis, thermal analysis, and other simulation efforts to guide design trades
Validate simulation results through prototyping and testing, correlating data to continually refine models
Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to ensure feasibility and maintain performance margins
Establish best practices for analysis methodology, documentation, and data management
Ideal Qualifications
Proven track record in advanced structural and/or thermal analysis for aerospace or similar high-performance environments
Proficiency with FEA/thermal tools (e.g., ANSYS, COMSOL, NX, Abaqus) and test correlation
Demonstrated ability to own entire analysis pipelines from requirements to final validation
Comfort with rapid iteration and making critical decisions under uncertainty
Experience with spacecraft environmental considerations (shock, vibration, thermal vacuum) is a major plus
Even if you don't meet 100% of the above qualifications, we are likely still interested in hearing from you. Hiring exceptional individuals is our #1 priority, and we believe that exceptional people often have highly unusual backgrounds.
We are also interested in carving out unique roles for unconventional people that we are excited about working with.
