At Rappi, we are building the future of instant commerce in Latin America. Turbo is our ultra-fast delivery product, enabling users to receive their groceries and essentials in under 10 minutes. As we scale Turbo across the region, we are looking for a Director of Engineering to lead the technical vision and execution for this critical business line.

As part of Rappi, you will be responsible for:

• Define and drive the technical strategy for Turbo, ensuring alignment with Rappi’s overall platform architecture and business goals.

• Lead and scale high-performing engineering teams across multiple locations, fostering a culture of innovation, ownership, and operational excellence.

• Collaborate with Product, Data, and Operations leaders to deliver seamless customer experiences and operational efficiency.

• Ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of Turbo’s systems as we expand to millions of customers.

• Establish engineering best practices, processes, and metrics to deliver at speed without compromising quality.

• Partner with stakeholders to prioritize initiatives and balance technical debt with new feature development.

• Serve as a technical mentor and coach to engineering managers and senior engineers.

Good and now, what are the requirements for me to be part of this neon universe?

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with 5+ years in leadership roles managing large distributed teams.

• Proven experience scaling real-time, high-availability systems in fast-paced environments (experience in delivery, e-commerce, or logistics is a plus).

• Strong technical background in cloud infrastructure, microservices, and data-driven architecture.

• Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to hire, develop, and inspire engineering talent.

• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in highly dynamic environments.

• Fluency in English and Spanish (preferred).
