Senior System Integration Engineer
Ramon.Space
Our mission is to revolutionize the way satellites, space robots, and spacecraft communicate through deep space, in-earth orbit, and ground stations. Our cutting-edge Manycore architecture enables a novel approach to efficiently design satellite communication systems.
Job Summary
Ramon.Space is seeking a skilled and experienced System Integration Engineer to join our team. This role is crucial for the practical development and validation of our core communication and processing technology, from initial prototypes to flight-ready hardware. You will be a key contributor, working hands-on in the lab, building test setups, conducting experiments, and ensuring our systems meet stringent performance and reliability requirements for space applications. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in electronics, a passion for hands-on work, and experience bridging the gap between design and real-world performance.
As a System Integration Engineer at Ramon.Space, you will be instrumental in bringing our cutting-edge space communication technology to life. You will work directly with hardware and software, developing and executing tests, designing experimental setups, and driving the evolution of our products from prototype to flight-ready systems. Your expertise in component-level behavior, test automation, and the overall integration process will be vital to our success. This is a hands-on role where your skills and initiative will have a direct and measurable impact.
What you will be doing
- Design, build, and maintain test setups for evaluating the performance of communication system components and integrated systems (prototypes, engineering models, and flight models).
- Conduct hands-on testing of hardware, software, and firmware/FPGA releases in a lab environment, including functional, performance, and environmental testing.
- Develop and implement automated test procedures and scripts to streamline the testing process.
- Analyze test data, identify anomalies, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with design engineers to implement solutions.
- Contribute to Design-For-Test (DFT) initiatives, ensuring testability is incorporated into the design process.
- Manage and maintain laboratory test equipment, ensuring proper calibration and functionality.
- Source and procure necessary equipment and components for the lab.
- Develop and maintain detailed documentation, including test plans, procedures, and reports.
- Become a subject matter expert on the behavior and characteristics of key system components (e.g., ADCs, DACs, clock distribution networks).
- Investigate and characterize the performance of new components and technologies for potential integration into our systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a hands-on system integration, test, or validation role, preferably in a relevant
- industry (aerospace, communications, electronics).
- Proven experience with laboratory test equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, signal generators, logic analyzers).
- Strong understanding of digital and/or RF communication principles.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Tcl) for test automation and data analysis.
- Experience with debugging and troubleshooting electronic circuits and systems.
- Solid understanding of hardware/software/firmware interaction.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent documentation and communication skills.
Advantages
