QDSS is seeking one FPGA Verification Engineer to support OTT verification for an update program replacing two obsolete FPGAs on a Digital Control Unit.
This is an exciting opportunity to advance old technology to new standards. You will design and implement test fixtures, test tools, and simulations utilized in the development and verification of the system.

Due to the nature of these roles, applicants must be US Citizen or Permanent Resident/Green Card Holder. This role is onsite in Cedar Rapids, IA.
The FPGA Verification Engineer is responsible for:
- Primary focus on FPGA planning, requirements development, design/coding, simulation, integration and testing
- Preparing design and test specifications, developing test hardware/software, executing informal and formal test campaigns
- Own or support PCB board-level designs including schematics, layout, part selection, and documentation
- Performing Code Reviews and verifications of Design Specifications and Reports
- Support board bring-up and lab integration testing activities
- Collaborate closely with systems and software teams to ensure electrical design meets overall system requirements
Required Skills:
- Has working knowledge of digital systems, and components, FPGA design methodologies, testing, debugging, root causing and testing methodologies
- Experience in design verification and validation
- Familiar with DAL-A verification methodologies
- Experience with coding conventions, unit testing and integration testing of PLD/FPGA's.
- Developing DO-254 related documents including but not limited to requirements, design description, and tracing
- Xilinx Vivado Design Suite
- Ability to Construct FPGA Test Bench using UVM Components.
- Sequence Development
- Develop UVM Predictors and Scoreboards to Implement Self-Checking Simulation Tests.
- Proficiency in developing UVM Agents, Drivers, Monitors, and Sequence Items.
- Proficiency in writing functional coverage and assertions.
- I/O Timing Analysis
- Must be self-motivated and have initiative
- Requires technical problem solving, strong design skills, and communication skills

Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
- Mostly Office Environments, Occasional Shop Floor involvement.
- Substantial amounts of telephone and computer work.
- Heavily Regulated Industries with strict adherence to procedures.
- Flexibility to meet business deadlines by staying late or arriving early.
- Typical 8 hour days plus lunch / 40 hour weeks / core (required) hours are 9AM to 4PM
- Ability to use personal transportation to visit customer locations.
