As our Staff Accountant. you will be responsible for supporting day-to-day accounting operations including AP, AR, GL reconciliations, payroll support, fixed asset tracking, and month-end close activities. This role ensures accuracy, timeliness, and compliance across all accounting functions and collaborates with cross-functional teams to support financial processes throughout the organization.

This position can be located in Location: Blue Ash, Ohio or Plymouth, Minnesota and is hybrid.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily accounting activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable, banking transactions, and expense processing.
  • Prepare and post journal entries; maintain supporting documentation.
  • Complete monthly reconciliations for balance sheet accounts.
  • Assist in month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
  • Support preparation of audit schedules, financial statements, and compliance reports.
  • Maintain fixed asset records and assist with depreciation schedules.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes through data collection and analysis.
  • Collaborate with teams across operations, HR, and procurement to resolve accounting issues.
  • Assist with process improvement initiatives and automation projects.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 2–4+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a mid-size or large organization.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP principles.
  • Proficiency in Excel and accounting ERP systems.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication and organization skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a government contracting environment, DCAA exposure, or high-compliance industry.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as Unanet
  • Experience in multi-entity or multi-state accounting environments.
