Roles & Responsibilities:
- Create revisions to detail parts and assemblies. Additionally, the designer may be asked to mature design concepts in support of a revision or new part release when a revision is not the appropriate avenue for change.
- Update detail, assembly, and installation CAD models and engineering for the airframe.
- Assist in researching technical data and developing solutions for the project or assignment.
- Coordinate with other engineering, manufacturing, or specialty personnel to resolve problems and execute revision routing.
- Specific tasks include supporting the development of product changes and improvements; responding to data/action requests from procurement, manufacturing, tooling etc., preparation of engineering change requests and change orders; and engineering drawing maintenance.
- Applies technical standards, principles, theories, concepts, and techniques to provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.
- Ability to communicate efficiently and effectively to coordinate design activities, prioritize tasks, and report status to design leads.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with customers, internal and external suppliers, as well as horizontal integrations across the other teams to complete design tasks.
- Proficient in 3DX CAD and PLM processes is required; prior experience with CATIA V5/V6
and Enovia is preferred. - Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook is required.
- 5+ years aerospace structural design experience is required.
Qualifications
- BS mechanical engineering.
- 3-6+ years relevant experience with tilt rotor aircraft
- Knowledge of GD&T basics
- Proficient in CATIA v6
- Previous experience in Aircraft Design is required
Preferred:
- 3Dx experience, Airframe/Aerostructure
Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
- Mostly Office Environments, Occasional Shop Floor involvement.
- Substantial amounts of telephone, video conferencing and computer work.
- Heavily Regulated Industries with strict adherence to procedures.
- Flexibility to meet business deadlines by staying late or arriving early.
- Typical 8 hour days plus lunch / 40 hour weeks / core (required) hours are 9AM to 4PM
- Ability to use personal transportation to visit customer locations.
- US Citizen is required due to nature of work

Qualifications
- BS mechanical engineering.
- 8+ years relevant experience with tilt rotor aircraft
- Knowledge of GD&T basics
- Proficient in CATIA v6
- Preferred: experience with DARPA, prototype programs, unmanned vehicle programs
- Strong understanding of aerospace design principles and industry standards.
- Demonstrated ability to work within assigned hours for a task, prioritize tasks, and communicate effectively when risks or issues arise
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment, primarily virtually.
