Quest Defense is seeking a highly motivated Data Analyst to join our expanding Data Analytics team. In this role, you will develop data-driven insights that directly support engineering workflows, operational efficiency, and strategic decision-making for our aerospace and defense customers.

You will work with large and diverse datasets, develop advanced visualizations, and contribute to the creation of machine learning and automation tools to streamline engineering processes such as failure analysis (FPR), material disposition (MRB), and performance diagnostics (Engine validation).

This role is ideal for someone passionate about transforming engineering data into actionable intelligence. Due to the nature of the work Quest Defense cannot sponsor candidates.

Key Responsibilities:

🔹 Analytics & Dashboard Development

  • Create insightful dashboards and reports using tools like Spotfire, Shiny, or Power BI to support engineering and operational reviews.
  • Automate reporting for recurring tasks across engineering, quality, and cost teams.

🔹 Data Engineering & Integration

  • Clean, merge, and transform structured and semi-structured data from multiple sources (ERP, MES, manual inputs).
  • Contribute to the development and optimization of the Data Warehouse, ensuring scalable and secure data pipelines.

🔹 Statistical & Predictive Analysis

  • Apply statistical techniques and machine learning models to identify trends, anomalies, and improvement opportunities.
  • Support ongoing initiatives in predictive analytics, cost forecasting, and schedule variance detection.

🔹 Support Engineering Projects

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (PMs, Engineers, Supply Chain, Quality) to understand project data needs.
  • Provide ad hoc analysis and visualization to support root cause analysis and continuous improvement.

🔹 Documentation & Communication

  • Document data models, analytics workflows, and automation logic clearly.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations in a concise, executive-ready format.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Applied Economics, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in data analytics, data science, or BI development.
  • Proficiency with:
    • SQL
    • Python or R
    • Data visualization platforms (e.g., Spotfire, Power BI, Shiny)
  • Ability to interpret large datasets and distill meaningful insights.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in engineering, aerospace, or manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with AWS data tools, PostgreSQL, and ETL pipelines.
  • Exposure to machine learning models, natural language processing, or AI/LLM integration.
  • Experience working within Lean, Six Sigma, or Agile teams.
