About the role
Reporting to the VP of Sales & Marketing, you will be the inaugural Senior Account Executive for Q-CTRL's Quantum Sensing - Ironstone Opal team. This role in particular will support our growth by identifying, pursuing, and shaping all future opportunities for the Quantum Sensing Business.
In this role, your focus will be to generate and capture business opportunities. You will develop a deep understanding of the existing and prospective client base, know the current and planned programmatic and technical roadmap, and be cognizant of the current and changing competitive landscape.
You will plan, initiate, and manage continuous engagements with current clients and prospective customers and monitor buying cycles for opportunities. You will support proposals and new customer efforts, including authoring and reviewing RFI, RFP, and other request responses and support the team in closing on new business. Specific emphasis will be placed on candidates that have experience with sensor products, and are familiar with the product lifecycle process from birth to sustainment.

What you'll be doing:

  • Lead all Quantum Sensing Ironstone Opal -related revenue-growth strategies and execution
  • Create and implement processes to ensure smooth growth and execution of the sales pipeline, including managing existing industry-standard tools (e.g. Salesforce) and implementing new sales methods and tools as needed
  • Growing existing business and partnering with product managers to identify opportunities for business growth with current clients
  • Expanding on current work, and interfacing with existing partners to explore new opportunity areas by sustaining and building on the strong foundation of client relationships
  • Communicate our value to clients.
  • Inform product development, be a liaison between current and prospective clients and the product & engineering organizations, able to translate their problem set into an actionable internal plan.
  • Interpret and convey various client needs to the engineering teams, help to inform and manage priorities and execution, keep stakeholders informed, and ensure that performance stays aligned to key milestones.

Ideally you'll have:

  • 8+ years of proven strategic sales experience within the Sensing space or related technology space
  • Ability to interface with a wide range of US and international customers
  • Experience working/operating in the Enterprise, Commercial and/or Research markets
  • The ability to understand and synthesize technical concepts enough to have conversations with highly technical customers and team members
  • Prior experience working in high-growth or deep-tech startups/scale ups
  • The ability to work autonomously as part of a small and growing team
  • Relentless optimism and persistence in driving forth commercial relationships
  • Strong writing skills, with experience in writing white papers, technical reports, and RFI/RFP responses
  • Experience with SFDC

It would be fantastic if you have these skills/experience but not essential:

  • Expertise in complex engineering systems is a plus.
  • Advanced degree a plus.
  • Prior military or contracting experience, or experience in DoD or Government a plus.
  • Experience with government business development, government contract structures, and government proposal processes is a plus.
Salary
The base salary for this position is targeted between $100K - $170K and will ultimately be determined by specific job-related skills, experience, level, location and other contributing factors. Depending on the position offered, this role may be eligible for annual discretionary bonuses, equity and other forms of compensation outside of the targeted range.
