Position Summary

Premise is working to aggressively grow our Public Sector portfolio in 2025, and beyond, and we are looking to add a Business Development Executive to the team. The ideal candidate will have experience in software and/or data provider sales to customers from multiple government departments and agencies. You will be a crucial driver to expand our reach across the public sector market and solidify our role as the go-to provider of remote data collection and analytics.

This is a remote position with some travel required.


What You Will Do

  • Engage with clients across Government sectors, building a strong network of contacts and growing a pipeline of opportunities
  • Identify potential clients and programs that would benefit from using Premise.
  • Teach potential clients how Premise’s software works and how it can add value to their programs
  • Map clients’ needs to the appropriate Premise software product and support offerings
  • Guide clients through a structured sales process that results in their purchase of Premise on our terms
  • Help develop strategic partnerships with funding agencies and implementing partners.
  • Based on your interactions with customers and industry knowledge, provide ongoing feedback to Premise’s product development, software engineering, and data science teams
  • Act as an evangelist for data-driven public sector development


What You Bring Along

  • Minimum of 7 years of full-time experience in Business Development in the Public Sector industry
  • Proven background in mapping sales strategy with various proposals, presentations, and pitches
  • Highly experienced at navigating organization(s) to identify stakeholders and develop contact lists for key decision-makers
  • Experience in all areas of business development - lead generation, relationship building, inbound and outbound sales, tender response, negotiation, account management etc.
  • Demonstrated success in developing strategic, trusted partner relationships with leading tech companies
  • Experience reporting on pipeline growth and sales forecasts per targets set by sales leadership
  • Ability to operate with minimal direction in a fast-paced sales organization.
  • Superior negotiation and influencing ability
  • Both excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A strong network of USG contacts

  • Experience within the data marketing or data collection industry
  • Experience in a SaaS or DaaS environment
  • Familiarity with the software and geospatial industries
