1. Occupational Summary (Position Objective & Authorities)

Objective:
The reliability engineer 2 establishes reliability, maintainability, availability predictions and forecasts mean time to failure in order to improve design functionality and reduce downtime or failures. The reliability engineer also generates documents, performs tests and utilizes fundamental failure analysis methodologies to derive root cause of repetitive/cyclic failures. Works under limited supervision .

2. Essential Functions (Duties and Responsibilities)

A) Identification of tests and creation of test matrix for design maturity on new programs
B) Create test plans and test reports for maturity testing
C) Oversee Accelerated Stress Testing (AST).
D) Creates reports for completed tests and assess test results for acceptability
E) Anticipate reliability related risks for Risk Assessment.
F) Performs MTBF, MTBUR and FMEA calculations
G) Define lifecycle acceptance criteria for seat components and mechanisms.
H) Assessment of existing reliability test methodologies, procedures and specifications.
I) DoE to develop test plan methods and set ups to ensure product robustness and performance.
J) Replicate product malfunctions under control conditions for failure diagnosis.
K) Contribute to developing engineering solutions to failures observed during the life cycle of seats and seats components.
L) Consults cross-functionally, providing expertise to address issues and improve product reliability.
M) Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

3. Qualification Requirements

A. Education & Qualification-
• Must have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related engineering degree; or minimum of 12 years equivalent related experience based on education and or experience will be considered in lieu of degree.

B. Work Experience - Technical knowledge-
• Minimum 2 years of experience in reliability engineering or related experience.

C. Professional Skills-
• Basic understanding of Mechanical Systems
• Basic understanding of electrical systems
• Knowledge of CAD systems (Pro-Engineer and CATIA) preferred
• Knowledge of Reliability, Maintainability and Availability (RMA) is preferred
• Basic knowledge of the following data analysis techniques including:
• Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA)
• Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA)
• Failure Reporting, Analysis and Corrective Action System (FRACAS) (preferred)
• Design of Experiment (DoE) (Preferred)
• Fault Tree Analysis (FTA)
• Reliability Block Diagram (RBD) (Preferred)
• Mean Time to Failure Analysis (MTTF) (Preferred)
• Statistical Analysis (Weibull, Binomial, Poisson, etc.) (Preferred)
• Must have the ability to generate written communication and to operate required office equipment.
• Ability to read and review written communication.
• Speech and hearing abilities that allow individual to communicate clearly and distinctly in English.

E. Desirable Aspects-
• Prior experience with Reliability calculation like FMEA, MTBF, MTBUR, FEA
• Prior experience with reliability testing and Root cause and corrective Action analysis.
