Job Description

As part of Safran Nacelles' Industrial Division, we are looking for a VIE Eradication Support Engineer to join our Burnley site in the UK.

You will be part of a multidisciplinary team, working to identify and solve quality issues within our manufacturing processes. In support of the Quality Notifications (QN's) eradication activity associated with both the A330neo and C919 Thrust Reverser products, dedicated engineering resource is required to assist in 'breaking the link' between delivered volumes and the number of quality issues generated.

Working closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Production, Supply Chain and Quality functions, this role will be at the centre of the QN eradication activity. Analysis and interrogation of the existing data will lead to the definition and implementation of process improvements via the modification of work instructions, tooling and material inputs. It may also involve the submission of Engineering Changes to the Design Department.

The objective is to significantly reduce the number of quality failures we experience when manufacturing.
This will involve the investigation of potential root causes of quality problems and the implementation of viable solutions to resolve them. The work will be focused on gathering and statistically analysing data in relation to components, assemblies, tooling and manufacturing methods, which will allow robust decisions to be taken on root causes and solutions.
