Job Description

Due to retirement and internal promotion, we are now recruiting for a Reliability Engineer at Safran Landing Systems! As part of our Performance & Support team, this role is based at our MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul site in Gloucester). You will primarily work alongside the Facilities & Maintenance (F&M) team, reporting directly to an Operations Manager.
You will work with industry leaders within Aerospace Engineering, giving you opportunities to learn and progress. With investment being made on site it's an exciting time to join our growing local team.
A crucial role for the business, you will be investigating plant & equipment (P&E) for technical issues adversely impacting manufacturing on site. You will
conduct research, collect data, and work alongside the F&M and Project teams to design, build and test solutions to improve P&E availability and efficiencies.
Covering an integrated maintenance process including:
• Operator First Line Maintenance
• Planned Preventative Maintenance
• Root Cause Analysis – Failure Mode Effect Analysis
• Predictive Maintenance – Needs and Solutions
• Provision of Spares
• Medium to Long Term Asset Management and planning e.g. Equipment end of life and next generation technology
You will act as the site focal for calibration compliance, liaising with the nominated contractor and internal area focals as required.
In this role, we would be happy to consider a Graduate with ambition and drive, who can demonstrate some relevant knowledge and / or experience within the aerospace industry.

Job Requirements
What do I need to succeed in the role;
• Experienced qualified engineer or an Engineering Graduate
• A good knowledge of Machining and Electro Plating processes desirable
• The ability to read and understand specifications and regulatory documentation and to use this information to its optimum effect whilst ensuring compliance
• The ability to read methods and sequences of operations
• Demonstrate effective organisation and planning skills with the ability to manage personal workload
• Have a keen sense of “First Time Right”
• Have good problem solving skills
• Excellent communication skills
• High attention to detail with strong quality awareness
• Good IT skills
• Good mathematical skills
• Team working ethics
• Self-managing and reliant
• CMMS previous experience would be desirable.
• An understanding of Lean Sigma disciplines and 5s principles
• Involvement in continuous improvement activities to reduce shop processing times and manufacturing hours.
