The UK Safran Electrical & Power team has expertise in designing and developing electrical systems comprising generators, power conversion, distribution and control, with developing expertise in electric motors for aircraft propulsion.
The Role
As a Design Quality Assurance Engineer at Safran Electrical & Power you will drive and develop plans to prevent and mitigate risks linked to our products, supporting in upholding the world-class standards Safran set within the aerospace sector. By utilising your problem solving skills and experience you will support the future of the aerospace industry by providing recommendations for improvements in our design processes and procedures. You will hold responsibility for maintaining design assurance within company processes, acting as the focal point between the Quality team and NPI projects.
• Responsible for maintaining the design assurance processes and procedures, primarily working towards 100% compliance.
• Heavily involved in the integration of quality throughout the aircraft and product design review process.
• Provide recommendations for improvements in design processes and procedures, ensuring these are correctly implemented.
• Drive mitigation plans in order to prevent risk linked to our products and related processes.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement projects in order to support in achieving engineering targets.
• Review and coordinate with V&V for all test method and design validations.
• Support the deployment of quality standards and apply them throughout all design processes.
Job Requirements
Desirable Experience
We are looking for candidates with a range of skills and experience, but we're also keen to help people grow and develop in this role. If you have some or all of the following, we'd love to hear from you:
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field preferred.
• Excellent drawing interpretation and ability to provide recommendations and improvements.
• Strong technical background in manufacturing, ideally aerospace or automotive.
• Demonstrated ability with quality and continuous improvement tools.
• Experience and knowledge of Quality Standards AS9100 & ISO 9001
• Solid understanding of problem solving techniques such as FMEA, 8D, SPC, etc.
• Evidence of written English at interview stage.
