Safran has significant expertise, products and market penetration within the areas of Defence, Electronics, Space and Aerospace Globally and within Australasia. The role will focus on expanding the company's offerings in the areas of Guided Weapons, Position Navigation and Timing, Navigation Warfare and Space.

Reporting to the Head of Sales and Marketing, the Account Manager –Airborne Major Campaigns will perform Business Development and Sales & Marketing activities in Australia and New Zealand covering SAFRAN Electronics & Defense Australasia (SEDA) portfolio. The role will focus on major and strategic campaigns within the business and perform the account management function with Air Force and lead all sales and capture activities for airborne, aerospace and weapons solutions.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
• Responsible for the Sales of SEDA (commercial and defence) equipment, systems and services related to optronics and navigation
• Manage responses to ASDEFCON tenders
• Actively lead bid responses to tenders as agreed by SEDA across Australia and New Zealand
• Direct Customer relationship management
• Local implementation of SEDA business strategy
• Develop business and capture plans to address the local markets
• Establish market surveys and benchmark Safran E&D products and services
• Organisation of local seminars, exhibitions and conferences
• Editorial white papers, conference speaker
• Local management and self-operation of demonstration equipment and systems
• Definition of mid-term and long-term business development plan
• Collaborative agreement on yearly sales objectives
• Marketing support to SEDA
• Frequent domestic travels

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

• Lead Sales activity (commercial and defence) for equipment, systems and services into their domain markets.
• Manage responses to ASDEFCON and or other tenders
• All aspects of Customer relationship management
• Local implementation of SEDA business strategies
• Develop business and capture plans to address the local markets
• Organisation of local seminars, exhibitions and conferences
• Editorial white papers, conference speaker
• Work with programs and engineering teams to initiate trials with Defence.
• Domestic travel and international travel as per business requirements.

Job Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION / EXPERIENCE

• Demonstrated prior experience in sales and/or business capture within Defence Industry.
• Minimum 10-year military service and or defence Industry business related experience
• Executive level business or engineering qualification
• Technical and/or operational expertise in either of electro-optics, PNT, space based technologies
• Prior demonstrated experience leading bids and proposals (broader business support to this function will be provided)
• Demonstrated capability working within a multinational defence company with associated international and domestic travel and leading multinational campaigns.
• Demonstrated knowledge of defence procurement lifecycles
• Knowledge of ASDEFCON template
• Established relationships with ADF and NZDF organisations and stakeholders.

PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must be an Australian citizen and eligible to hold Security Clearance NV1 and above.
• Fluent English language skills
• Eligible to work within 5 eyes Defence and Intelligence programs.
• Customer focused
• Strong written & verbal communication skills
• Able to work with and develop business and technical strategies incorporating advanced technologies.
