Job Description
The Lead Software Developer is responsible for overseeing the development of our existing
and new aeronautical products. As part of the software development team and in collaboration
with project management, the Lead Software Developer is involved in software development,
requirements engineering, software architecture decisions, and unit testing. This role requires
strong Agile methodology know-how to lead and manage development processes effectively.
The position is on-site at our customer's location in Bavaria, near Munich. You will be part of
our team based in Berlin, which will require traveling to Berlin once a month.
Job Requirements
Successfully completed studies in computer sciences or another comparable study program,
or a successfully completed training in a comparable IT profession
5+ years of object-oriented software development experience
5+ years experience of C++ programming language
Experience in using software version control tools (e.g. Git/Bitbucket)
Experience with Gnu/Linux and scripting languages, e.g. Bash, is advantageous
Experience in defining software requirements is advantageous
Experience in using third-party and open-source libraries is advantageous
Experience with Agile Software Development
IP network skills are mandatory
Ability to deal with full-stack problems
Knowledge of bug tracking tools (JIRA) is mandatory
Knowledge of programming languages for GUI development is advantageous
Knowledge of the V model and DO-178 standard is advantageous
Working location will be Gilching (Bavaria).

Lead and mentor the software development team, ensuring adherence to Agile practices.
Drive software development projects, making critical decisions on software architecture and
design.
Collaborate closely with project management to align development activities with project goals
and timelines.
Engage in requirements engineering to gather and define software specifications.
Perform unit testing to ensure high-quality software deliverables.
Develop software, implement unit tests, and maintain existing or new software components
Continuously contribute to improve established processes
Maintain or extend existing build environments
Maintain or extend Gnu/Linux operating system configurations
Document requirements and implementation details
