1. Occupational Summary (Position Objective & Authorities)
Objective:
To support Safran Seats USA aftermarket and their internal and external customers with a strategic global alignment within supply base that delivers products and services on-time, with 100% quality, in the quantity required and at the best value to its aftermarket customers. This position will work within Safran Seats USA policies to leverage or create processes that support early supplier engagement on Programs and fosters an environment that promotes technological and commercial cooperation. This role will work independently with general supervision.
2. Main Function Responsibilities
A) Pre-project and preparation for future phase-
• Assist the aftermarket sales teams in responses to customer RFIs and RFQs for special spare parts projects.
• Coordinate the technological improvement actions for aftermarket, working with the aftermarket group in order to maintain efficiency within the digital transformation projects.
• Develop and present reports and presentations to customers, , and key stakeholders on aftermarket performance and support leadership improvement projects that integrate the three different business units.
B) Innovative ideas from group leadership.
C) Execute innovative ideas from group aftermarket process improvements throughout aftermarket SSUSA Development phase.
• Provide proactive support in the development and implementation of the global aftermarket forecasting program and lead and own the implementation of the forecasting strategy in order to align with purchasing and supply chain management.
• Drive the implementation by the Aftermarket Department of the applicable Engineering related actions with suppliers, in compliance with the global aftermarket plan.
• Align with the provision of the technical purchasing program to the purchasing sectors, as necessary for meeting the development or modification deadlines, in conjunction with Engineering and related functions that align with the aftermarket future and current demands Provide, in consultation with the Legal department and whenever necessary, support to ensure the integration of customer agreements and purchasing contracts to maintain proper execution and maintain quality control of contract management.
Complementary Description
• Ensure that the Purchasing department exhaustively covers Aftermarket needs by representing the Aftermarket department and promote the Aftermarket process within the Integrated Program Team (IPT). The individual will also align with the IPT within the Purchasing department.
• Ensure compliance with the objectives, orientations and constraints of the Aftermarket needs, along with adherence to aftermarket group policy and new product strategies.
D) Production and operational support phase-
• Coordinate and drive cost reduction actions (process optimization, resourcing, value engineering) in compliance with the budgets and implementation deadlines provided as part of the global aftermarket executive committee
• Support integrated support between SSUSA, SSFRA, and SSGB to align with budgetary and financial targets related to spare parts and process improvements.
E) Functional missions linked to Aftermarket Spares
• Participate as a permanent member of the Aftermarket Management Team
• Participate in the planning of the Supplier Review and Selection Teams, assist Commodity Managers & Buyers with their preparations when required by Aftermarket to drive its internal global Aftermarket goals.
• Align all three business units for spares support and daily tactical tasks to complete SSUSA demand for SSGB and SSFRA.
• Create alignement with requirements with regard to Export Control as it relates to the delivery of aftermarket spare parts.
Job Requirements
• Maintain an Action Item List in support of the Program Purchasing Plan that support aftermarket customers and drive the necessary actions in the event of changes with an impact on the program.
• Provide technical support, problem solving, supplier training, project management, implementation skills, to aftermarket, engineering, front office, back office, program managers, and suppliers for assigned commodities, projects, and programs.
• Drive activities required to meet cost, quality, inventory, delivery, and cycle time objectives throughout the supply chain value stream to support Aftermarket.
F) Perform other duties as assigned.
3. Qualification Requirements
A. Education & Qualification-
• A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business or other related field is required or six years of equivalent/related experience.
B. Work Experience - Technical knowledge-
• Additionally, eight (8) years of hands-on experience working in one of the above fields.
C. Professional Skills-
• Operational experience of over 8 years, including experience with suppliers in a structure such as Purchasing, Supply Chain, Quality.
• Knowledge of the development and production processes
