1. Objective:

Manages all matters of Quality and SMS (Safety Management System) to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements associated with the repair station and contribute to Aviation Safety. This position works independently.

2. Essential Functions (Duties and Responsibilities):

• Provide coordination between the organization, customers, and the FAA & external support in all matters of quality.
• Support the Accountable Manager and Repair Supervisor.
• Assist, supervise and direct all personnel assigned to the inspection department.
• Assure access to pertinent Federal Aviation Regulations, specifications, Type Certification data sheets, and AD's (Airworthiness directives).
• Determine that all technical data concerning overhauled or repaired articles is secured and kept current with the latest revisions by the respective department inspectors.
• Assure that all inspection tools and test equipment used by the Repair Station is calibrated at the time of use.
• Assure that no defective, unserviceable, or un-airworthy parts are installed in any component or articles released by the Repair Station.
• Submit reports of defects of un-airworthy condition in accordance with FAR 145.221.
• Assure the proper execution of FAA form 8130-3 Return to Service.
• Accomplish the final acceptance of all incoming material, including new parts and supplies.
• Assure that only certificated individuals approve repairs.
• Maintain Authorized Personnel Roster.
• Initiate corrective or preventative actions when deficiencies are found.
• Maintains Scrap Program for the Repair Station.
• Define and manage the Safety Management System.
• Be responsible for the Internal Inspection Audit.
• Support, contribute and ensure participation in the Continuous improvement activities and initiatives of the company and the department.
• Perform other duties as assigne.

Job Requirements

3. Qualification Requirements:

A. Education & Qualification-

• Bachelor's degree in Quality, or related field required, or six (6) years related experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree to meet the education requirement.

B. Work Experience - Technical knowledge-

• In addition to the education requirement at least 5 Years of experience in a FAA Part 145 environment.
• FAA Repairman's certificate required or to be obtained upon appointment within ninety days of employment.
• FAA Regulations for Technical Standard Orders and/or Part Manufacturer Approvals parts production.
• Advanced Professional Knowledge of professional practices, sources of information, and rules and regulations such as AS9100, 9110 standards, FAA regulations, EASA Regulations.

C. Professional Skills-

• Good knowledge in Quality tools, Lean & continuous improvement methods including problem solving.
• Knowledge of risk management and Aviation Safety.
• Ability to present Quality situations of a program or product to customers or to authorities.
• Must be computer literate.
• Must have knowledge of MRP systems, MAPICS experience preferred.
• Speech and hearing abilities that allow individual to communicate clearly and distinctly in English.

E. Desirable Aspects-
