Job Description
As a member of Safran Seats, you contribute to providing over one million seats to airlines worldwide, ensuring superior quality, comfort, and innovation. Your role involves collaborating with a team to develop high-value solutions for passengers and crews. Objective:
(NOTE: THIS POSITION WILL BE LOCATED IN CHARLESTON, SOUTH CAROLINA)
Support the On-Site Support teams at various Air Framer locations by collecting and analyzing data, reporting KPIs, maintaining Safran Seats documents and procedures, coordinating with cross functional groups to meet customer and regulatory requirements, ensuring the proper characterization of defects, assisting with on-wing quality analysis and investigations, supporting Root Cause and Corrective Action initiatives, and ensuring that development programs capitalize with lessons learned. Works under regular supervision on moderately complex tasks.
Authorities:
This position has the power and control to represent Safran Quality when interacting with airframers and
airlines/customers. This position also has the authority and right to control, command, make decisions and
delegate to ensure compliance to the company Quality procedures and processes.
Complementary Description
1. Main Function Responsibilities:
Customer-Focused Responsibilities:
A) Ensure adherence to quality standards and specifications by conducting on-site inspections and troubleshooting quality issues in real-time, collaborating with technicians and production teams to implement corrective actions.
B) Assist in the drafting, maintenance, and implementation of quality procedures in compliance with customer requirements and industry standards (Parts 21 and 145, AS9100).
C) Provide training and support to technicians on quality standards and best practices to ensure customer satisfaction.
D) Collaborate with Safran Manufacturing sites on product and material quality to ensure that incoming product/ material meets customer expectations.
Air Framer Responsibilities:
A) Participate in design and engineering reviews to integrate quality considerations from the early stages of product development.
B) Develop and maintain quality control plans to ensure compliance with industry regulations.
Internal Process Responsibilities:
A) Utilize the established ERP and Quality Management System to access necessary drawings, specifications, and data, ensuring adherence to baseline standards.
B) Plan and execute data collection efforts to enhance process visibility; generate and update KPIs and quality data, summarizing key insights effectively.
Job Requirements
2. Education & Qualification:
A) Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Aerospace, Industrial, etc.), related OR 6 years related industry experience required.
3. Work Experience - Technical knowledge:
A) 2 Years experience in quality assurance, production or engineering roles in aerospace manufacturing or other highly regulated industries.
B) Demonstrated experience in conducting quality inspections, troubleshooting complex quality issues, and working on corrective actions with technical and production teams.
C) Experience working on non-conformance investigations and root cause analysis, with moderate involvement in corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
D) Hands-on experience with auditing processes, both internal and external, including working with auditors or supporting audit preparation.
E) Solid understanding of FAA regulations (Parts 21 and 145) and AS9100 standards.
F) Ability to read and interpret advanced technical drawings, engineering specifications, and work instructions.
G) Proficiency with ERP systems and Quality Management Systems (QMS) for managing technical data, NCRs, and quality plans.
H) Experience in using tools like FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) and root cause analysis techniques (e.g., 5 Whys, fishbone diagrams) to identify and address quality issues.
I) Strong data analysis skills to track and update KPIs, and generate quality reports to identify trends and provide insights.
J) Intermediate knowledge of supplier quality management, including working with external suppliers to ensure compliance with product standards.
4. Professional Skills:
A) Attention to Detail & Problem-Solving: Leading root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
B) Communication & Collaboration: Cross-functional communication with engineering, production, and supply chain teams while negotiating with customers and suppliers.
C) Audit & Regulatory Compliance: Participating in and ensuring compliance during internal and external audits.
D) Data Analysis & Quality Reporting: Data collection and generating inspection reports, interpreting KPIs, conducting trend analysis, and presenting data-driven insights.
E) Customer Focus: Collaborating with customers on quality expectations and driving corrective actions based on feedback.
