Roles and Responsibilities

• Serve as a technical leader for the operations team regarding manufacturing processes
• Lead improvements in the areas of manufacturing processes and procedures through lean manufacturing techniques to achieve improvements in safety, quality, cost, and delivery.
• Support engineering with development and execution of capacity analysis and justification for future expansion of the manufacturing processes
• Recommend process and equipment improvements to maximize the productive capacity and part quality
• Interface with engineering, operations, and maintenance personnel regarding operations of equipment, including routine operation, emergency procedures, and safety considerations
• Monitor production teams to standard operating procedures ensuring all employees uniformly execute best practices when performing tasks.
• Involved in scheduled Preventative Maintenance events with Maintenance personnel to review condition and to identify possible areas of concern
• Continuously monitor the condition of equipment and tooling and communicate status to the appropriate operations, maintenance, and engineering teams
• Implement improved tooling inspection and management practices to ensure availability and serviceablity of required tooling
• Promote standard work methods and uniform best practices across all production teams by providing continuity and consistency in communications related to operating practices and resolution of technical issues related to production
• Identify root causes and resolution to manufacturing anomalies related to equipment operation, productivity, and quality
• Complete technical trainings as specified by the Operations Manager
• Perform other related duties as required

Job Requirements

Physical/Environmental Scope of Position
• Must demonstrate the physical capacity to meet the demands of the "Heavy" Job Placement Assessment (JPA) as administered by St. Elizabeth Business Health Services
• Work in/near electro-magnetic fields created by high temperature induction furnaces
• Subjected to inside environmental conditions, noise, vibration, oils and other related industrial hazards
• Vocal communication, hearing, and visual acuity are required for safety, direction, and the exchange of ideas in the industrial environment
• May work in confined spaces and wear a respirator and/or self-contained breathing apparatus
• May be exposed to and handle hazardous wastes as defined in 40 CFR 261.3

Experience/Education/Certification Required

• High School diploma/G.E.D.
• College Degree (at least 2 yr.) or equivalent credit hours (60) preferred
• Profficient in manufacturing related functions such as process automation, CNC, CMM, project management, mechanical systems, hydraulic systems, chemical processing equipment, electrical systems, high temperature systems, furnaces, etc.
• 10+ years of experience in a related manufacturing environment, including working knowledge of processes, equipment design, operation, and maintenance
• Green Belt certified
